I'm just compiling a list of games that I should check at home whether the original CDs install ok on Win7 64bit, and whether I should buy them also from GOG. Besides that there are quite a few interesting GOG games that I don't own at all yet...
Besides games, I'm itching of buying some powerful "desktop replacement" laptop, but frankly if I was sane, I'd postpone it to the future because I have several a bit older laptops (and a desktop) already, and my backlog is mostly games that run great on them.
Then I've been thinking of buying a tablet PC for my gf (I'd use it too), but I have no idea whether I should go with IPad2 or some Android tablet like Samsung Galaxy Tab. I'd prefer Android, but then I don't know if IPad is just so much more coherent environment, no guesswork which Android apps are suitable for the tablet etc.?
My gf loved the IPad2 we tried on a shop yesterday, but frankly I was a bit unimpressed. Writing with the virtual keyboard was much more cumbersome than I had thought, but maybe it just needs some getting used to. But I'd like the idea of a small "PC" that can be genuinely used on sofa, bed, toilet... Even more mobile than a laptop.
Also I don't like the fact that to me the tablet PCs seem wildly overpriced compared to e.g. laptops, but then maybe the touchscreen technology costs so much... or maybe not, since there are very low price touchscreen phones as well? I'd like to have even more competition on tablet PCs before I buy one, I think the Apple and Samsung are reaping far too high margins for their products currently. For the 700€ I'd pay for IPad 2 toy, I could get quite a few GOG games.
Unfortunately also the games I've seen in live for e.g. IPad2 have been quite unimpressive. The graphics can be quite great, but the gameplay at least in the action titles seems lacking and very restricted. It is as if they are still trying to figure out what kind of games would work the best for touch screens.
