dark stone and diablo tehe
Command & Conquer & Red Alert 1 worked very well. I still know the cheats by heart.

- right down left left down right right down left x [ ] o = airstrike
- right down left left down right right down left x up x = nuclear weapon
- right down left left down right right down left x [ ] /\ = Ion Cannon

Also I never got that well into Vagrant Story. It's just so dark and the music was kinda boring.

koima57: Grew up with the NES, but took the move to SONY with the PsOne.

So many favorites.. To name the ones I've played from A to Z over and over, and all over again..

- Castlevania Symphony of he Night
- Crash Team Racing
- Final Fantasy VII
- Metal Gear Solid

Some I don't have today but loved back then from friends : Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 1 & 2, Silent Hill!

And a few I really like but not played too many times :

Breath of Fire IV, Dino Crisis 2, Fear Effect, Final Fantasy VIII & IX, Resident Evil 3, Vagrant Story, Xenogears.

To end my post a special spotlight for two "hidden gems" : Galerians & Thousand Arms!
Your top favourites are almost the same as mine. Just replace Crash Racing with Resident Evil/Biohazard 2 and there you go.

It's interesting how most people seem to mention the same few games ( Symphony, the FF games, MGS, Resident Evil etc. ... )
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Also -
Tactics Ogre
Final Fantasy Tactics
Ogre Battle: Limited Edition

the_atm: That's another thing, never played any Final Fantasy until I think crisis core on the PSP... which, from what I'm told, means that I was missing out big time. But I think I was a bit young at the time to play Final Fantasy. One day though I'll play Tactics.

mqstout: I should point out that Final Fantasy Tactics isn't "really" a Final Fantasy game except in title and a tiny bit of shared names-for-things.
Luckily for us! :P
Suikoden
Final Fantasy 9
Einhander
Final Fantasy Tactics
Wild Arms
Here is my list as well (in no particular order):

Lunar: Silver Star Story
Valkyrie Profile
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
Shin Megami Tensei 1 & 2 (PS1 remakes)
Metal Gear Solid
Wild ARMS
Persona 1
Persona 2: Innocent Sin & Eternal Punishment
Thousand Arms
Galerians
Parasite Eve 1 & 2
Resident Evil 1 & 2
Clock Tower
Skullmonkeys
Xenogears

I still most of them, I wish I still had Skullmonkeys though. :(
Unholy War: strategy game, when units collide, you duke it out in a small 3d battle. Best as multiplayer.

Metal Gear Solid: If you don't know it, stop what you're doing and go play it.

Driver: Super-fun driving.
Tarzan (it was a great jump n run game, i loved collecting all the TARZAN symbols. it was kind of like Donkey Kong Country, but had plenty things that made it unique)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (1 was okay, but this still holds up, i recently played it against, it's still an amazing and addicting game)
Rayman (what can I say, it's Rayman)
Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night (i got it on PSN, but hey, it's the same game as on PSX)
Driver (i didn't play it on PSX but i played the PC version and it was awesome, i hope this counts)
Tekken 3

the_atm: So what is your favorite PlayStation 1 game?
My favourite PSX exclusives would be Silent Hill and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Then there's also Metal Gear Solid which also had a decent PC port, though (which aside from *requiring* you to have a controller to beat a certain boss was pretty much perfect and included the VR Missions expansion which was supposedly hard to get on PSX). Most other great PSX games I can think of had better versions on PC or other platforms, though.

All three of them are available on PSN, btw.

Oh yeah, also Tenchu was pretty awesome.
