I usually browse the forums if the size of the download is not that big (less than 1GB or just 1-2GB). If it's bigger than that I just do something else away from my computer (watch a movie, play on Xbox or other stuff that plays games, work, etc.). I like the way you think.

I didn't mean that as means of starting a technical conversation but there are a lot of great games out there you can play with one hand. Freelancer, KOTOR 1 & 2, AOE ALL, C&C ALL, pretty much any adventure game, card games, checkers, chess, Diablo 1&2, Titan Quest, Sacred, Blitzkrieg 1&2, Sims, Sim City...I could go on.
