Well, they did just annex Crimea. But yeah, I'm not really sure there's any reason to think they'll go any further at this point. But, the whole way that it was handled was rather fishy.

If that were to happen, the fate of GOG would be the least of our worries.

But maybe we could all get first hand experience of a post-apocalyptic world then. Real life Fallout! How cool would that be?

Indeed, the key point being in this case that the vast majority of Crimeans wanted to be annexed by Russia. Ukraine was holding onto Crimea for dear life as nothing more than a simple land grab.

What concerns me is that Putin may start having delusions about Russia having some manifest destiny to revive the former Soviet Union.

Goodness knows, outside of the major metropolitan centres like Moscow and St. Petersburg, Putin has a lot of support from patriot zealots who think that Josef Stalin was the best thing since sliced bread. And the Russian military is certainly powerful enough.

So, spare a thought for us poor folk who live within arm's reach of this potential madness (funnily enough, I live just 10 minutes by car from the former iron curtain).

Mind you, Ukraine's military is a bit of a pushover anyway compared to the might of the Russian army. Poland won't be so easily knocked down, and Russia really cannot afford to antagonise Germany.

And put a sickle instead... On the other hand it could mean Russian prices for games, not sure if worth the tradeoff though :P

This is what happens when you cancel regional pricing. No special price for Russians, Poland gets invaded.

The problem there is that a significant people on the other side of my home state want independence from it as well. Doesn't mean that they should be given it. Now, had there not been an armed invasion prior to the vote, there might have been some legitimacy to it,.

As far as Putin goes, he gets a lot of credit for things that have nothing to do with him. Yes, the lives of Russians are better now than they were previously, but that was already starting before he came to power, and the give him an awful lot of leeway despite his absolutely appalling record on human rights.
