but in-case anything does happen, as long as you have proof that the account and the games are yours, steam support will restore the account back. The sad thing vac ban wont be reversed in any case of hijacked accounts

cw8: Just being cautious here since I noticed I never had to type in my debit card number into Steam while buying a game, not sure where Steam stores that info. And is there anyway to disable the storing of the number.
1 - Steam Guard is meant to protect your account*.
2 - The second your email address or password is changed, Steam automatically deletes the stored payment method**.

* Whether or not it does, I couldn't say. However, Valve are probably far more liable for the loss of your account if you're using it.

** I've tested this.
