It's my girlfriend's birthday, too! Unfortunately I'm almost a thousand kilometers away from her. I have no idea what exactly I will be doing. Hopefully not being vaporized.

I'll probably be amusing myself by reading the explanations of why, yet again, the world didn't end. A misinterpretation of the Mayan calendar? A math error? Quetzalcoatl got too drunk to notice the date? I'm intrigued to see what reasons will be put forward.

Isn't the latest one something to do with the guy who created the modern calendar getting his math wrong? Apparently it's 6 years out or something, and it's actually 2006. So, we have another 6 years before the Apocalypse ...

There's your excuse. :)
