Taleroth: Where did they claim that? lilith70 said it's the job of the developer, but that the publisher must fund it.
Delixe: In the comments it seems Spicy Horse are annoyed that EA support are sending people to their forums for technical help. That IS the job of the developer. EA know about as much about fixing issues with the game as I do.
Seems more to me that lilith70, the only Spicy Horse employee posting in that thread, is actually doing little more than defending EA.
I'm afraid that there is a misconception here.
Who created the code for A:MR? Spicy Horse did.
EA is not Spicy Horse and does not employ any of the same programmers. They are just as "lost" as anyone who did not make the game directly.
"It's not EA's job to patch, it's Spicy Horse's"
Defense of EA.
It is their prerogative, however, to fund any patches.
HOWEVER.
We have to see a problem on a particular scale before a patch is justifiable. We haven't seen this yet.
Pointing out what EA's job is, but immediately qualifying it to turn it around to Spicy Horse responsibility.
EA does not have some magic "know how to fix it" wand that spontaneously tells them how to fix a problem. They have to figure it out the same way everyone else does
EA can't do it
And then more that all seems consistent with a general theme of "no, it's not EA's responsibility." And all of this was in response to users claiming that EA was shirking responsibility by sending people to Spicy Horse. So in comes their admin and says "stop blaming EA."
I think you're reading deflection where there is none. lilith70 did nothing in that thread but agree with your position that it's not EA's responsibility to patch and fix the problems.
