I think I only saw a few episodes. Like Automan and Manimal it popped up on UK television but quickly disappeared without even finishing the season run :(
If they remade it, they would ruin it. It's purely a product of it's era and is great as it is.

Whut? It ran for a couple/few years here....mainland, anyway. Not sure about your part :P

Alien pyjamas allow flying! but he's scared of heights! LOL!

EDIT : William Katt, the star of this show, did a brief run as the Private Detective in the Perry Mason mysteries. Not a bad actor, as they go...

*shrugs* Dunno. One minute it was on the telly and next minute it wasn't. I was extremely young then though.
I tend not to go back and rewatch most of those shows, they were fine at the time, but most of them were really, really bad.

That along with The Dukes of Hazard and Fall Guy was one of the earliest shows I remember watching. I've tried watching again and they're more or less unwatchable, I seriously question our taste in TV if we really liked them.

Because it's oh-so-much better these days with TOWIE, X-Factor, Pop Idol, I'm An F-List Celebrity, Jeremy Kyle, 15th repeat of Law&Order/CSI/NCIS season 1 in 3 months, Steven Seagal films making Arnie look like an Oscar contender......??

No, those are just filler. It's a bit like complaining that dining has gone down hill because there's tons more comfort foods than there used to be.

These days there's all sorts of shows over the last few years where the writing and execution would kick the crap out of what was being done in the 80s. Eureka, Psych, The Big Bang Theory, pretty much anything that AMC and USA are doing for original programming. And don't get me started on what HBO has been doing over the last decade.

There's always going to be crap programming, but the shows that I've been watching are of noticeably higher quality than the ones I watched in the 80s or 90s.

The 80's also had Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Cheers (when it was good), The Young Ones, I, Claudus, Yes Minister, Open All Hours, The Goodies, Up Pompeii, Street Hawk, Spitting Image, The Comedy Store Presents and a lot more.

The 90's had the return of Star Trek, Babylon 5, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Simpsons, The X-Files (when it was good), Milennium, Dark Skies, Batman: The Animated Series, Stargate SG-1, Bottom, The New Statesman, and again a lot more.

We have just as much good stuff, it's just spread across a lot more channels now.

I should have realized that there'd be a difference between UK and US.

Largely because of the BBC things are very different over there than they are over here. If I understand things correctly the BBC only orders full series, rather than by the episode as is common in the US. It's not at all unusual for a series around here to be canceled after only a couple episodes without providing the writers and actors a chance to get their rhythm.

babylon 5 and buffy are hands down two of the best tv shows i have ever seen, b5 has the best storyline, and buffy is the most creative
I like Babylon 5 too even if big bang theory says no to it :)
Hey, that's the man from Carrie, right?

Babylon 5 was pure gold for seasons 2-3 (I think, or when was it when the whole thingie between Protoss and Zer... I mean Vorlons and Shadows was resolved?), after which it had nothing left.

Star Treks, Deep Space Nines, Farscapes etc. failed to grasp my interest. I disliked even the new Battlestar Galactica (artsy-fartsy with too many big words), while the original BG was quite entertaining in the cheesy 80s way.
