What's the scoop? Awesome? Mediocre? The best thing about them is the crazy weird way the voice actor can impersonate Michael J. Fox?
I played the first two... they were pretty mediocre. Pretty much the normal Telltale stuff but very easy and with even less interesting writing and scenarios.

I hear the third is better though.
I'm part way through the fourth episode and I've been enjoying the series so far. It's ridiculously easy even with the hints turned off (I can't believe anyone would need them) but it's well written and amusing.

I'm very bad at working why I like things, but I know I like this game. And yes, it's spooky how much it sounds like Michael J Fox. As one person put it, the guy playing Marty sounds more like Michael J Fox than Christopher Lloyd sounds like himself (understandable, because he's really old now).
I was going to pick these up based on reviews. I haven't checked into Sanctum of Slime yet (the other 80s movie based game that is recent).

You mean Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime? That game is smashed ass.

That bad, huh? Last Ghostbusters game was okay, that's too bad to hear. The co-op is bad too, I assume?
The last Ghostbuster's game, actually written by Dan Akroyd and with all the original characters, was a game I really enjoyed. Not the best ever, but I like a real spiritual sequel to the first movie.

This new one is just so boring as hell and generic. They put so little effort into it, well, here:

RPS pretty much slammed it as hard as they possibly could.

I found the first one a bit uninspired. The setting was somewhat boring. When I saw that the next one was supposed to take place in the same era, I had no desire to play it.
Has no one learned anything from the time of ET for the Atari??
I liked all the Telltale games I bought / played and it includes the following: Sam & Max Seasons 1-3, Wallace & Gromit Season 1, Tales of Monkey Island Season 1, Puzzle Agent and Back to the Future Season 1.

Back to the Future is a bit different (very easy) but they told it from the start that it would be a very casual game (therefore very easy). Except that, I very like the story and the dialogs. This is a good game with lots of fan service in it. Also, it takes 2-3h to complete each episode.

I got the season for ~20$ and I don't regret my purchase.
I did only played episode 1, as I got it for free with this special promo they had.

I was bored so quickly, that I ended playing it quite early.

At my first try to give it a second shot, the Launcher did not allowed a second start if the game.

Some days later, it worked again, I played for about 10 minutes and deleted it. Was just too boring.

The Graphics were nice, the voice acting was good, but the fun was not really there, in my opinion.

Well, since you're getting such mixed opinions you should probably wait to pick it up. Telltale usually super-discount their games surprisingly quickly. You might only have to wait until their christmas sale to pick it up for something like $5.
I tried the "demo" (Free episode one) found it mediocre, at best.
Being someone with absolutely no adventure gaming background (OK, I played Jack Orlando for its setting and nice atmosphere, but even that I could only finish with a walkthrough), I don't mind that the BTTF games are ridiculously easy (on the contrary, I do enjoy not getting frustrated by them). The setting is great, most of the time it really gives you that Back to the Future-feeling, so if someone is a fan of the films and doesn't mind that the games are more like interactive movies, I'd say they should definitely give them a try.
