There doesn't seem to be a big difference between inet explorer 8 and mozilla.
So GOG doesn't cut a thing a this moment.
Maybe you should check the error locally
A tech explained it to me and it is what I was thinking too. After digi distribs shut down for the day their servers tend to get set to minimal functioning. My daylight hours are at the same time most of the rest of the world is sleeping.

I've noticed that if I start pulling after midnight I can get close 400 kbps.
