An online merchant from which I purchased Awakening displayed the North American product, easily identifiable by the ESRB rating. As has been happening often lately, the item I received instead is the European verson, identifiable by the PEGI rating. Is this going to cause issue when I try to cross my Origins hero over to it or anything like that? Should I return it right away?

Normally, I don't mind getting the EU versions, except when things are censored in the EU versions that aren't in the US, or when something like Sacred 2 happens, and the expansion pack is incompatible with games of a different region.

I think you should be just fine. :) My copy of Origins is technically the UK version via Steam and my copy of Awakening is the US version (also via Steam) and I had absolutely no problem loading my Origin file into Awakening.
Yeah, it works. It adds it to the list of "Other Campaigns". I guess I'm still reeling from Ice and Blood's incompatibility issues with US versions of Sacred 2. There was no good reason for that.

Well, you were right to ask.

The ultimate edition ( Origin + awakening + dlcs) has not made it to retail in continental Europe. So enthusiasts bought it either in the UK (no problem at all ) or in the US. In this latter case, Origin and awakening intalled fine but there were reports of problems to redeem the dlcs on the European servers . I don't know if that was eventually solved ( didn't like origin to the point of buying awakening anyway and I had so much trouble installing the dlc that came with my retail box that I waited a couple of months before buying Mass effect 2 , just to be sure they enventually had found a solution )
