Can anyone from GOG or CDP say whats happening with australian steam preorders of witcher 2?

If they've* decided not to release it in your region and you've pre-ordered it, chances are Valve will automatically issue a refund on the day of release. They will rarely issue on prior (only case I know of that happening was allegedly during the Mafia 2 fuck up).

* They being either Valve or the publisher.

Looks like someone realized Australia wasn't getting screwed and took care of that issue immediately.

The Australian version has now been censored due to there being a quest where you can get sex as a reward. Now Geralt immediately rejects the sex. Realllllly annoying. I might have to cancel my physical pre-order. Not just because of the no sex but because of the ridiculous censorship.

Sounds to me that the GOG version is the best choice then, since GOG doesn't do localised versions AFAIK.

Did they censor that in Fallout: New Vegas in AUS as well?

I'm not sure, I haven't played New Vegas. I never heard anything about it.

On a side note... The GOG version won't come with my Witcher 2 mouse!

I would be amused if that slipped under their radar for a massive release like New Vegas but they caught it for a much smaller release like The Witcher 2.

If the Steam is censored/cancelled on Steam I'd recommend contacting support and telling them you want to cancel your preorder (which they allow) and moving it over to GOG which I'd imagine won't be censoring your version.

Well I took the plunge and pre-ordered the collector's edition from TheHut for a very low €68. That's €32 less than what Belgian stores charge here and only €20 more than the regular price. Considering the dice, card game (and rules), bust, coins, pamphlet, etc. you get, it's a steal.

I should have mentioned that I've not preordered the game through steam, since I like to support the developers, I'd get it through GOG if anywhere. Since I hated the first one, this issue doesn't affect me at all I'm just curious and figured this'd be the place to get answers
