This isn't really important; I just wanted to gripe as I think it's ridiculous.

I wrote a review for "Night of the Assholes" by Kevin L. Donihe, and then had to rewrite it because apparently using the word "asshole" in a review is a no-no.

I find it sadly amusing and contradictory that they consider the word "obscene or offensive" yet they can show the cover of the book with the word on it clear as day, they can show the word in the title, and they can show the word anywhere else they reference the title, but good lord, don't try to actually use the word in a review!

I get it; they don't want a bunch of cuss-word-laden reviews, but the whole "It's ok for us to use it but not you" thing is a bit annoying. It's not like I was swearing for the sake of swearing - if it wasn't in the title, and it wasn't what people were turning into, I would have had no reason to use it. So instead we must use kid gloves and tiptoe around it, despite the fact that anybody reading a review of a book called "Night of the Assholes" is not going to be shocked and disgusted and offended to see that word.
At least it stops Amazon Reviews being quite as dim witted as Youtube reviews (at least in the content of langauge). Word filters are pretty common and asides its a good policy to learn to express ones self without need for "dirty" language.

Broaden your vocab :)
In your review, call it "anal orifice" instead ;-)
