Vitek: Another Enemy Unknown reboot announced.

This time it's even turn-based strategy! Yay!

Not just another reboot, this time it's THE reboot everyone was hoping for.
I love 2K Games, and this new reimagining of X-com sounds like pure genius. Squad-based shooter with elements of X-com and BioShock, set in the 60s, that borrows from bullet time and (it seems) from the newer VATS in a bizarre fusion tactical shooter? I'm drooling.

A lot better than the original announcement, which made me cringe at yet another "spend $60 on a generic shooter" affair.
Nah. THIS is X-Com.
YAY!

grviper: Nah. THIS is X-Com.
Sounds like a console-oriented reboot for now, so don't hold your breath just yet.

I somehow prefer original X-COM. Even with its outdated graphic :-)

Catshade: I'd partially forgive them if they make it a true tactical FPS a'la Rainbow Six or SWAT.
It's more like Brothers in Arms really.

Wishbone: "They're also pushing the "suspenseful narrative", which pits you -- an FBI agent -- against the unknown but growing enemy force."

So... Not only will it be a completely different type of game from the original, but the XCOM agency isn't even in the game? What the fuck are they calling it XCOM for???
I assume X-COM division will be elaborated near the end of the game prompting a sequel.

And now we get the people complaining that it's not close enough to the original.

Ah well, fuck 'em, that's pretty damn awesome! Two X-Com games I'm excited for? It's a post-Christmas miracle!

Now if only there were Chryssalids in the FPS everything would be perfect.

Edit:: Also I'm excited for this Enemy Unknown reboot, because after watching videos for Xenonauts, it just wasn't appealing to me, and I felt bad for that.
