StingingVelvet: Well yeah, if they cost a $100 or so I could see it, not for me but for people in very specific circumstances. For $600+ though, and as a replacement for a real PC, I just don't get it.
I'm in complete agreement. It's not a toy I would want.
Wishbone: You do know that Android is an OS, right? There are tons of different phone models that use Android.
bansama: Actually no I don't. As I say, it's only carried by one provider (who just label it as Android phone* in the little material I've seen) who doesn't have a local presence and it doesn't get any air time on TV.
* Given the complete lack of singular/plural for inanimate objects in Japanese, it's also difficult to determine from the little I've seen as to whether Android is one or more models.
Try looking at phandroid (
http://phandroid.com/ ) and see if you can suss out the model numbers.
Android phones can be locked down as heck, such as the DroidX from Motorola, be a bit careful.
orcishgamer: The way a football coach uses his clipboard. In the crook of one arm while the dominant arm writes/navigates.
reaver894: I though they just used them for hitting the players and snapping them when they lose
Yes, but they probably won't do that with their iPad2s, so I guess the comparison breaks down:)
