Does it support Flash yet? I mean, didn't Apple and Adobe have a spat and Apple released the iPad without Flash support? My memory's a bit iffy with this since I am not really an Apple fan. I don;t actually own any Apple products, in fact.

Navagon: 2001 called. It wanted its astonishment at Apple selling shiny crap to human magpies back.
Haha there is that, i just thought they would have reduced the price for the standard to lure im more people. Get em hooked then release the new one. But from my limited apple knowledge its basically the same price as day 1

orcishgamer: While I share your sentiment, I still have to admit that laptop/netbook form factor leaves something to be desired in certain situations (such as standing on the metro). Now, I wouldn't pay 600 bucks (or whatever) to get an iPad, but I might pay 100 bucks for a tablet at some point that would see some use.

hedwards: I haven't used an iPad, but don't they still require you to use 2 hands? How do you hold on?
The way a football coach uses his clipboard. In the crook of one arm while the dominant arm writes/navigates.

Wishbone: You do know that Android is an OS, right? There are tons of different phone models that use Android.
Actually no I don't. As I say, it's only carried by one provider (who just label it as Android phone* in the little material I've seen) who doesn't have a local presence and it doesn't get any air time on TV.

* Given the complete lack of singular/plural for inanimate objects in Japanese, it's also difficult to determine from the little I've seen as to whether Android is one or more models.

I though they just used them for hitting the players and snapping them when they lose
Everyone knows that Apple routinely issues redesigns for their products. You aren't forced to upgrade, and the apps are (generally) compatible with the older software. When the iPad came out, many people said they were going to be waiting for the second model as it would work out the inevitable flaws of the first.

Essentially: you don't like it, that's fine. I also think it costs more than it's worth, but by posting a thread like this you are boosting Apple's publicity. Complaining about products you don't have to buy is just adding noise.

StingingVelvet: Well yeah, if they cost a $100 or so I could see it, not for me but for people in very specific circumstances. For $600+ though, and as a replacement for a real PC, I just don't get it.
I'm in complete agreement. It's not a toy I would want.

Try looking at phandroid (http://phandroid.com/ ) and see if you can suss out the model numbers.

Android phones can be locked down as heck, such as the DroidX from Motorola, be a bit careful.

Yes, but they probably won't do that with their iPad2s, so I guess the comparison breaks down:)

Between the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, Apple has become a wildly successful company.

I wouldn't be surprised if they started making computers soon.

It's not meant to be a PC replacement. It hits a sweet spot that a phone and laptop can't reach.

Reduced price? Bloody hell you really are new to Apple, aren't you?

Got my Ipod shuffle 2 weeks after release (first generation 2GB) for £15 retail.

Yeah, I can see how that would have thrown you off the scent. That's like what? Less than half the actual asking price?

They were usually about £45 but it wasnt selling well around here so they discounted it to lure people in. I can honestly say its the only apple product that im aware I own. (I class the Ipod and Itunes as a oner)
