If you had to choose between getting all the Zork's, or getting the Space Quest's in the sale ending today, what series would you get?

I've never played any of them

I'd go with Space Quest, but I'm biased, I have a lot of good nostalgic memories about them.

One Caveat; GOG doesn't seem to have Space Quest 1 VGA, that's prevented me from buying their Space Quest 1,2,3 bundle. You could go for 4,5,6 and grab a Zork i guess.

Then I'd feel off

VGA or not, I'd buy the whole series of either.

Just wasn't sure what series was better, in the sense of which one I should pay for and experience first. I do know both are highly rated, so it's a toss up

Zork was "the" computer game for years. For purely historic reasons, it should be experienced by all.
I'd say space quest. Graphic animated parser adventure games were my favorite genre. And space quest 1-2-3 were my favorite of all sierra adventures...
That's 2 for Space Quest, 1 for Zork so far

I suppose it depends on what type of in-game humor I'm looking for as well. Not sure on the humor in Zork, but it's supposed to be pretty silly in Space Quest
Space Quest is funny indeed. Personally I would vote against Zork because it is not my type of puzzle game.
I enjoyed Zork more, but that may be because I was able to explore the world without consulting a walk-through.

Seriously, Space Quest is unforgiving as all hell but that's Sierra adventure games for ya.
Zork. Just because of it's historical value.
You mean entire Zork series (just completed mine during this promo) or Zork Anthology?
If you want entire anthology and you like to see the evolution of gaming in this series, go and grab it, it's one of the best examples of how games changed over the years.
If you want a big part of what made adventure games what they are today and enjoy some crazy (and sometimes toilet) humour - grab Space Quest.
I'd get Space Quest first for nostalgia reason and to know how it ended (played only 1, 2 and 5 back in the old days).
Zork is something I heared about but never played before GOG. Haven't played them all yet, so I can't give you a fair review.

here's a few bits from space quest 4, it's choc full of this type of humour.
Space Quest, but I know next to nothing about Zork.

Wish List. It's more important to have the original EGA version, but it should have both. Particularly with how it's bundled and the price point.

Every Zork on sale right now. In comparison, both bundles of Space Quest's is only $2 less than the sale price of all 4 Zork games until the end of the day

I technically get more games with Zork, but either way I get at least 6 games

The Zork's look a little more unique compared to the Space Quest's, but I also don't have any sci fi adventure games as of yet

Tempted to get both just to settle my back and forth mentality

So it's 6 SQ games vs. 4 Zork games vs. 10 excellent games and milestones in the genre's history.
I guess "all" is the way to go :)
