Ok, first off I'd like to point out that I don't actually have a copy of NWN2 on GOG, but rather have a physical copy via the Neverwinter Nights Complete collection which has both games and all expansions. I just figured I'd ask here as I don't really know where else to ask.

I had recently downloaded some mods for NWN2, but when I tried to play it the game would stutter when characters would walk. If everyone stands still it runs fine oddly enough. Anyway, I tried removing all the mods, and the game still did this.

As such, I uninstalled NWN2 and removed all the files from my computer. I then did a fresh install, but even without putting any mods at all it still stutters now. I don't know what's going on. It was fine before the mods, and you'd think that removing them and doing a new install would fix it, but it's not.

Any help?

This is a known issue, and since you don't have the GOG version, you should install the 1.69 Critical Rebuild. Please read the instruction for which file to use.

If you still have issues after that, try the Client Extension.
For Neverwinter Nights 2, you may need to get your game patched. This seems to be the easiest way to patch a disc version as it should help you get through all the numerous patches that were released for NWN2.

The 1.69 Critical Rebuild that Hickory links to above actually only works for the first game (NWN1) and won't work with NWN2. But the Client Extension (the second link) does apply to this game and may help as he notes and is worth using.

Yikes! That was very sloppy of me -- I guess I needed more sleep. Thanks for pointing it out.
