I have downloaded all the portions for Nevewinter Nights 2 including the patch and installation wizard. All the files are listed under my downloads and in a folder I created in there. When I click on the installation wizard, it starts but then says "the file could not be located in the installer's folder. Please make sure the file is in the correct folder or specify its current location" I'm not sure what the issue is and frustrated. Please help. Thanks

Part 1 is a .exe & the rest are .bin
You browser hasn't changed the file extension on the bin files has it?

First of all, you do not need the patch. The installer is already updated to the latest version (2.1.0.6).

Secondly, make sure that you actually have all the files, and that they have the correct file-names. Some browsers can sometimes give the wrong file extension on downloaded files. If that has happened to you, you will need to rename them.

yes they all have the correct file names. any other suggestions?

the bin files are saving under VLX media file under type but they are still .bin files. Does that affect it because even if I redownload it saves the same way

What browser are you using to download the files?

Have you set Windows Explorer to show file extensions?

What does it show if you open a command prompt and do a 'dir' listing in that folder?

If you right click on a bin file & look at it's properties, it should say Opens with: Windows Shell Common

Don't worry about what Windows Explorer calls .bin files. It sounds as if you have VLC media player installed. The game installer is not interested in what Windows catalogs them as, so long as they are all there with the .exe file.

If the installer is complaining that it can't find files it is possible that your browser saved the files to a protected folder, in which case Windows will place them in a virtual folder. If this is the case, create a new folder directly on your C: drive. Call it 'Downloads', so you will have C:\Downloads\ . Now move ALL of the downloaded files into that new folder. Try the installer again.

Post a screenshot of your files. NOT Galaxy, your actual files in Windows Explorer. Why? Because there is no way the installer should be throwing that error if you have all of the correct files in one unprotected folder.
