Me and an old friend are going to play through NWN again soon. We've done all the campaigns multiple times so we're looking for some unique rules to give ourselves. Something along the lines of a nuzlocke for NWN1.

Any good ideas?

There's always the idea of "No buying items" for example, but that will impact something like a Fighter massively more than a Wizard. Might be easier to create specific rules for certain classes.

For example, a Fighter might only be allowed a one-handed weapon. Can't use a 2H or 1H+shield, just 1H weapon. Wizard can't use the highest spell level available, only the lower ones.

Or could do more generic stuff like "No stat above a 15 to start" or something.
If I were you, rather than run through the incredibly boring OC, get hold of some decent community modules instead - you will have 200% more fun.
How about a "magic only" playthrough? Basically, play with the restriction that physical attacks are forbidden.

(I haven't played the game, so I don't know how viable it is.)

Or, if you want a *real* challenge, you could try beating the game without leveling up. Yes, this does mean that you will still be level 1 when you reach the final boss. Good luck! (You'll probably need it.)

Quite easy as a Sorcerer (or Wizard).

That would literally be impossible for two reasons:

1, the game will refuse to let you proceed through the Prelude until you hit level 2.

2, even at level 2 the final boss would be mathematically impossible.
Would it be feasible (and fun) to try and play with the restriction that your PCs can't directly attack your opponents in humanoid form? So e.g. playing druids, sorcerers, wizards or clerics who just summon and buff other creatures, or attack in wild shape form (crowd control and weakening spells allowed, but no direct damage magic)?

Probably not though. Given how NWN works, I guess it might become tedious or frustrating soon.

Or just play spellcasters without using the most obvious and favored spells - no magic missile, fireball etc., instead learn and use spells you never paid much attention to.
