Yes, for a fresh reinstall get the Patch 0 -> 1.3 patch from http://www.thewitcher.com/patch1-3/

wormholewizards: new bug, my game stuck at prologue's dice poker. Can't press any button. Need to kill the process. Never happen before.

Kindo: Make sure you uninstall any mods you might be using, then try again. If it still doesn't work, then you've encountered an actual problem, so keep us informed and send a note to tech support for aid.
no mod installed, but it happen random, And any of you guys encountered bug when try to aim ballista at prologue section? The scene after the king displeased with the Nilfgaard embassy related to his bastard child. I can't aim the enemy using gamepad analog stick, it won't move. But i have to aim using mouse instead.

wormholewizards: Is it me or the Insane now is slightly difficult than before? Now twice died in prologue. That's unusual.
avatar
archaven: You actually played insane? Wow that's a great deal of patience there.
No way i will beat the game on insane, just try it for fun. The furthest i have played on Insane difficulty is Chapter I, but died by the hordes of Nekkar in Nekkar cave.

Didn't work, said game incomplete or wrong version. I had to download patch 1.1 via GOG Downloader, apply it, then the game updated itself to 1.2 (I think, it downloaded a patch all by itself but no info on what it actually was), then I had to dl the 1.2->1.3 patch and apply it manually.

routsounmanman: Just tested in 3DVision and the shadows look completely out of place! The game's still unplayable in stereo 3D! :-(
I can confirm that the shadows are indeed broken in 3D Vision.

The performance has improved, however.

Andrzej,

I believe that what people are experiencing is the shadows are now rendered in 2D. Everything else is rendered in 3D. I'm not sure if this is because of SLI configs or not. I'll disable one of my GPUs when I get home, but there is definitely something amiss with the shadows in 3D.

Please have Tomek check it out.

I have a hard time believing someone tested the game with 3D Vision glasses on and didn't notice 2D shadows...

Yes, it does sound like something that could be classified as 'unmissable.' Curious.

The best place to notice how messed up they are is standing inside the town square in Flotsam where the hangings occurred. It really looks bad...
downloaded the Patch now and it gives me:
"not enough disk space to patch the game. yoe need at least 1.71 GB of free disk space on your system drive (C. by default) to install the patch"

the problem is the I have a dual boot system with windows 7 (working) and windows xp for gaming. So under windows xp the 100 MB system reserved partition windows 7 creates during install (where the boot files are) is recognized as partition C: under windows xp .
windows xp itself is under partition I: (and would have enough space)
So the Patch tries to use this only 100 MB big system reserved partition to extract.

Am I stuck now not able to install the patch or can I manually extract it somehow to another partition or must I reinstall the game and to use the autoupdate function?

Didn't someone from CDPR posted that they have 100+ computers to test these things (don't remember which post, among all these 1000+ posts)? Granted, only a few might actually support 3D vision...

Oh, come on, one can see the glaring errors using a 50cent red/cyan pair of paper glasses or even crosseye style: http://cdn2.wsgfmedia.com/f/u/witcher201_50.jpg

Over at the NVidia 3D forums, the same problem with misaligned shadows in 3D has been reported fir about 15 different hardware/software setups, including 9 different GPU's.There have been no reports of setups that do work.

I've a hard time believing this somehow got missed in the testing phase, but I'd be curious to know the specs of the system that had 3D working as intended.

The thread is at http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=205850
At least nVidia is investigating it and not just saying "it works for us, too bad for you"
So when's 1.4 due?
