The Witcher 2 is neither niche game or hard. It is a classic dark fantasy action RPG. The combat is optimized for gamepad which may put off some gamers but most of them will handle it easily with KB+M after a little accommodation.

Although it has some flaws, it is a masterpiece that is easily GOTY worth IMO.

As about who you want to f***

I remember a post from a guy with a handicap who asked on GOG forum if TW2 has a similar isometric camera mouse control system like TW because it was the only way he could play it. He was disappointed about the negative answer but he wished all the other gamers to enjoy it.

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/two_questions_about_witcher_2/post8

Now, should I feel superior because that poor guy can't play such a beautiful game while I can so easily? Is there some hidden satisfaction in that?

Kradath: I just don't understand the hatred many show with their posts. The casual market is the biggest one, that's why the developers shift their focus on it. So you have to blame them.

Insulting someone just because gaming is not a substitute for reality in their life is simple childish ignorance, as some think they are the middle of the universe and every opinion that differs from theirs is only worth an insult.
Fixed

Remember the full internet equation: Audience + Anonymity + Inferiority Complex = Total Asshat (and douche-bag of the year)

And don't even get me started on how sitting on your big fat lazy arse all f***ing day with one hand on your mouse is hardly achieving anything worthwhile.... if you want to p*ss on someone just because they have a real life then you can go plow yourself... nothing but a bunch of oxygen thieves...

oh, btw, that wasn't aimed at you Kradath, I was actually agreeing with you :)

I know, your fix is a good one as well as your additions. :)
Wow, nerd raging. Yes all the "F*** the casual gamer" people must really be nerds living in basements with no life. There is a reason why 'casual gaming' is so popular these days, non nerds have lives, they work they live, they dont have time for all that Hardcore BS, not to mention gaming isnt only for nerds anymore, its finally become a accepted part of society. So Revel in your nerd lives that see you have a gazillion hours for a game. You guys are really bitter to get so worked up that you so hate Casual players. Its pretty sad, but understandable.

That being said, It is nice once in awhile for someone to throw a bone to hardcore fans, they might not have lives like the rest of us but you guys do deserve to have a game to enjoy not just casual players.

When people say "optimised for gamepads" about an action game, I want to shit in their cereal every morning for the rest of their lives. A keyboard and mouse are designed for various office applications, a control pad is designed for games. Yes, certain games benefit from having a load of hotkeys, but bear in mind that RTS can almost always be played with a mere two buttons. Even something irrefutably intelligent like chess would only need 1 or 2 buttons and a d-pad.

You seem like a very bitter person.

Are you always this angry when someone refuses to accept medicority?

Perhaps you need to reflect your own persona as to why you can't man up for a challenge.

Looking at your threads, we get the idea you want everything served without any challenge.

Hate to break it to ya sir, but life is a challenge, deal with it.

Just for the record i'm a very "casual" player, but I refuse to play games that are catered for mindless idiots, as in little to no challenge.

I think the biggest problem is the psychological effect of calling easy mode "easy". Perhaps CDPR should have named the modes something like: "Monster Slayer", "Monster Plougher", "Witcher" and "Master Witcher"???

Easy mode in this game is perfect for the casual gamer (of which I am one)... yes you can still die (damn you Kayran... lol), but it doesn't punish you too much for making a mistake. Not so reliant on alchemy and signs, but believe me making proper use of these functions makes easy mode a cakewalk. I always try to get through each combat without being hit (even though it doesn't really matter if you do on easy) in an effort to learn proper combat tactics for this game... I'm starting to really like the combat system (apart from the commando roll thing, looks a bit dumb)

I always do my first play through of any game on the easiest setting to get a feel for the game mechanics. I find it's easier to learn game specific stuff when you're not struggling just to survive the first combat... by the time I've done an easy and normal play through I know the game well enough to attempt the harder settings... works for me :)

My biggest issue is with the attitude of the so called "hard-core" epeen stroking turds that think being better than most at a video game is some kind of badge of honor.... big f*cking deal... so you can beat a game at the hardest difficulty setting. Good for you. Some of us actually play games to relax and be entertained, not for bragging rights.

I can understand your points about games being dumbed down, because that's why difficulty levels exist, to cater to every level of skill. But bashing on a group of players just because you are "better" than them is just retarded. Get over yourselves, it's not like being an ace gamer is actually a useful life skill....

And your point (other then shitting) is? Do you know what Razer is? Are they manufacturing office products now? If you like playing sitting on the couch in front of the TV it doesn't mean that a gamepad is the best choice for everyone and in every situation. Do you even think before posting? Don't answer that.

Here are a few office products for your avid curiosity.

All I hear is the angry words of a stupid child. I'm impressed that someone with your obvious mental shortcomings managed to write anything at all, so well done on that.

Err... "optimised for gamepads" = Consoles. The whole reason gamepads and controllers were created was for games to be able to be played on TV's, using a much simpler design and fewer buttons.

I fail to understand your point. You could play something with two buttons. You could play any game with two buttons, hell you could do it with one using morse code, doesn't make it better.

P.S. It's nearly 2AM in the UK, my logic and grammar is going. Sorry.
The Game is really easy when you know what you are doing. I mean the insane mode need to be al least 2-3 time more difficult after the first chapter. You can make the game very difficult playing on insane mode without queen sighn and without bombs. But the combat without queen is too silly you need to roll all over the place like an ass.
