My fps stays in range of 10-20 no matter the settings or resolutions. I-ve tried low spec and even ultra + UBERSAMPLING and i get the same fps values.

quad core q6600 2,40 ghz,
4gb ram ,
windows 7 ,64 bit if the os matters for something. Drivers are up to date.

You're up to date with game patches, aren't you? 1.35? Nvidia and the game had a falling out over 3D drivers, but if both the card and game are up to date it may be the processor doesn't have enough power, though it should (just)
Have you tried lowering the resolution at all, to see if that boosts FPS? Or try in windowed instead of full screen?

What version, exactly, are your nVidia drivers? "Up to date" doesn't tell us whether you got a problem driver version.

280.26 version of my driver. uninstalled that 3d driver .

And i've tried lowering the resolution. I've tested it at 1680x1050 and even 1280 x 1024 at low spec for the sake of it and it was no diffrence. The cpu is a bit outdated but i think i should get good fps at low spec even with that. ( i mean i need an Intel Core 2 Duo to match the minimum requirements) I just can't get past that 20 fps no matter what i try.

I can play games such as Crysis 2 with directx 11 enabled and almost all settings at ultra + full hd at 30-50 fps. For me it;s pretty obvious that the game is the problem but i can;t seem to solve it. It;s a shame this game is poorly optimized.

Lots of people with lesser rigs are getting better frame rate, so it's something to do with your setup, not the programming of the game.

Try going back to the 275.33 drivers; those are the last ones known to work well with this game. The new drivers have some really ugly bugs in them. On nVidia's driver page, you have to look under "Archived and beta drivers" to find them.

System Restore to the point before the new drivers were installed won't help you; that will leave you with the old drivers and the new control panel, and the control panel will crash. It's best to uninstall all the pieces of 280.26 before installing 275.33.

Another poster on the official forum was able to determine that the reason for his poor frame rate was another program running in the background. Make sure nothing like that is hindering you, either.

I could try closing my antivirus, net connection etc and see the result.

Causes slowdowns and stuttering, and can even overheat your graphics card or something. I don't know if it's related to your problems, of course, but still - sounds like a good idea to roll back the drivers.

Mmm. I got better performance when I OCed my Q9550 a bit (currently running it at 3.10ghz). Could be an option as well.

Well, the game uses Havok Physics so that's hardly surprising.

After i've installed 275.33 drivers , did some registry optimizations it seems that my fps has gotten a bit better . Now i range from 15 to 35 avg-ing at around 25 most of the time which is playable for me .

This is at high spec with ubersampling disabled and lod distance minimal at 1920X1080 res. I've tried all sorts of combinations and this works best for me.

It's interesting though, that when i've disable AA and SSAO my fps dipped down. And changing resolutions made no difference whatsoever.

Me, I play with MSE running and I rarely have problems.

There's no reason to turn off AV while gaming unless you want more performance or are troubleshooting.

And even then, MSE hardly uses anything and I've yet to see or hear of it causing an issue.

no its not really interesting its a symptom
it just mean that your 6600 bottlenecks your 460
(AA,resolution etc are graphics card dependant)
your 460 should give easily 30fps(average)
but your 6600 can only give 10-20 fps
so if your cpu works at 100% that much power can make 460 to work at 60-70%
its a huge bottleneck 6600 even bottlenecks a gtx 260
and an overclock cant make it much better

You can overclock the heck out of a Q6600. 3.0 GHz on stock cooling is easy. 4.0 GHz if you're good at it. Still won't turn it into a Core i5, but it'll be less of a bottleneck.

yes now Ive seen that he averages @25fps so with ~30 % oc he should be fine
(my initial calculation assumed avrg of 15-18fps stated at the first post)
