Not that I am complaining but this is just curious for me. So I live in Australia and I bought the Witcher 2. Then I found out it was censored. I checked the version that I had and discovered that it was uncensored. At first I thought that they must have sorted it out with the Australian government or something. But then I had some friends telling me that they got the censored version.

So how in the hell did I end up with the uncensored version, I'd really like to know :)

Well you get the gog version when you register your retail version of the game as a back up. And the gog version is uncensored indeed :) Simple as that.

Nope, I bought with an Australian account. I didn't use a proxy even change my settings. It even said AU on the game. But after close inspection nope not he censored version. My friends ended up getting the censored version.

Well, here on GOG you list your location as United States, so regardless of where you actually are, if you buy from GOG you would get the uncensored version as your location is US. GOG do not use Geo-IP to determine location.

My Location was set to AUS at the time of purchase.

I can't remember exactly when I got it but I think it was in 2013
