Grimlorn: What DLC should a first time player delete? I'm importing a Witcher 1 save. I just don't want to have overpowered items that ruin the progression of the game.

I was also kind of annoyed that I'd be missing out on the challenge of the prologue since I noticed they made it easier. I'm guessing that was for all difficulties and not just normal and easy?
delete everything but the finisher pack
Pre-order DLCs from CookedPC folder:
alchemy_suit.dzip
dlc_finishers.dzip
magical_suit.dzip
merchant.dzip
roche_jacket.dzip
swordsman_suit.dzip

To bypass all freebee items, remove all of them, exempt dlc_finishers.dzip.
I wouldnt delete them, i'd just drop them just in case it causes the "invalid game version" when trying to install the next patch.
Or at least just move them to a different folder for safe keeping just in case.
Moving them to some backup folder would do the trick.
Dont remove the elf_flotsam.dzip file! As others have said, its related to the AU censorship. I removed it by accident while trying to patch, and couldnt accept the sex reward from the rescued elf in vergen... My character would automatically say "I'm not interested..." How rude!!

And if you restore the file you still won't be able to have sex unless you go back to chapter 1 and repeat the whole rescue scene. Its frustrating because i couldnt get the key to that shortcut door, and i didnt wanna go back to ch1 and waste all my progress.
Err... Instead of removing those game files, can't you just not use them and sell them? They may be balance breaking but they do not break the balance if you don't use them that way. For example i sell most of them to get a bit of additional income since shop keepers buy an item at less than 1/10 the price they sell it to you.

Or easier still: rename the unwanted files by adding ".bak" at the end (or whatever ending you like). So they are still in their proper location and easily restored if need be by renaming them again.
