- Vigor regen returns a point a few seconds after your last cast, so cast in bursts.
- Potions help with regen, but less than expected, unless you have 2 points in Condensation.
- 2 points in Schemer help, but Condensation helps more

Vigor regen begins when you are done casting. Puzzled by why Geralt had to wait so long for a point to regenerate after using several signs a few seconds apart, I wondered if there was a delay on regeneration. There is, out-of-combat.

Out-of-combat, Geralt regains a point of Vigor 6 seconds after his last cast, a second point 3 seconds later, a third 2 seconds after that, then 3 seconds, then 3 seconds (assuming 2 points in Vigor regen in the Training tree). Potions affect it, though they don't reduce the first point delay below 5 seconds. Out-of-combat regen isn't affected by Schemer, nor by the total number of points in Vigor. Worth knowing for setting up Yrden traps, etc.

In-combat, Vigor regen is more even, without the extended delay for the 1st point - each takes about 4 seconds without buffs. 2 points in Schemer reduces this to just over 3 seconds per point, and Condensation to just over 2 points (while affected by Toxicity).

One minor note: vigor regen begins after you start your last cast. So with a boost to Vigor, it's possible to keep spamming, say, Axii, which has a three-second cast time. You next point of Vigor can be up and ready by the time you're done.

This makes Alchemy a viable secondary tree for Magic, in place of Swordsman. Swordsman will still probably be more popular, but it's not the only option. Mutant and Amplification also give nice bonuses to Adrenaline, bringing Heliotrope up more often.

Edit: added info from Condensation.

I wish I could change the title of this thread, since Schemer does provide a benefit in combat. It just doesn't work quite as expected, and it provides a smaller benefit than Condensation. That said, it's a lot easier to reach in the skill tree.
