I like to keep my game files up to date (and at the ready in my hard drive), so it's handy that when game files are updated in GOG, the game is flagged as "UPDATED" with a little red box. Then when you open the game file list, generally the site also informs you which files are new.

This didn't happen with the last update of Witcher 2, at least not here. When I go to the files list, no files are flagged as new or updated. I can tell the installation files have a different version, and even the number of installer files changed. There's the new mod tools, that I know because of the news. But what else?

What changed in the files list in the latest update?

I'm guessing the update was for the RED engine modding tools.

It was flagged. They added the REDKit as a 6 part download in the installer's tab. It was later removed and re-added as a one 6gb file in the extras tab. They also updated the installer to v3.4.

The 3.4 installer is obviously huger. But when I ran the game I had previously installed, it only downloaded a 13MB update. Anyone know why? I'm guessing the new 3.4 installer contains a small 13mb plus REDKit, is that it?
So is it really necessary to do the update ?

That's a lot of bandwidth to download again to say nothing of the time involved downloading it again.
