A user on thewitcher.com forums named Petty has come up with a fix for those of us who still can't get the game to work post 2.1

It's not a perfect solution, but it finally lets me run the game. And hopefully, now that he/she has isolated exactly where the problem lies in the game's code, the guys at CDP can start finalize a proper fix for the problem. I hope others find this as useful as I have.

And if this fix solves the problem for any of you guys, make sure you leave a post thanking Petty for his/her hard work.

Also, the fix was for Windows XP 32-bit. I don't know if someone can use this method and find a fix for Vista and 7 users also.
