It's hard for me to say it's overpowered when it's almost necessary to survive.
yep, truly overpowered. but i like it :)
Not overpowered, just the easiest to use effectively, especially if you are not spending most of your points in signs.
I don't care for Quen, as I can't regenerate Vigor using it. I only use Quen in the nastier instances, like dragonfire.

I rarely use it outside of boss battles. On hard difficulty. So it would perhaps be more accurate to say its necessary for *you* to survive.
definitely, a bit broken even
It's definitely much more useful than it used to be. Now my least used sign is IGNI, which used to be my number 1.
My #1 is probably Yrden, followed by Axil.
I remember in the witcher 1, I downloaded the insane difficulty mod and the only way I was able to progress through that was by spamming this sign.
Quen, throwing daggers/bombs are all both overpowered and almost necessary on hard difficulty.

Quen's near necessity gimps magic builds hard too, as you can't regen vigor with it, but practically need it not to go down in a few hits - especially since most damage reduction and vitality boosts are in swordsmanship tree.

Think it needs to absorb a % of damage taken up to a cap on total damage absorbed by it, and NOT prevent vigor regen. This would make you not invincible with it up, and more equally useful for magic and sword based builds instead of heavily favoring the latter since swords don't require vigor to deal damage and don't need to use other signs much.

Fully upgraded, with Venting as well, it may be a bit op for my taste. As a basic spell, it is certainly not too strong.

It is hard to resist upgrading it for a few situations when Geralt is really limited in evasion opportunities.

You have a point. I can think of a certain optional boss fight which prompted me to fully upgrade it. But nothing in Geralt's arsenal is OP in regards to that fight. IMO.
I'm starting to think it's not as overpowering as most think. It's gone after a few hits from mobs and you can't regain vigor while its active. It's nice to use if you get ganged up on and need to escape...I also pop it after laying some Yrden or Axii'ing a mob or two. I usually don't use it unless I only have one bar of vigor left

Quen is too overpowered. During my third play through for Prologue this morning I did it without using any signs or bombs and managed, only died once. And that was trying to cross under the covered bridge against the dragon.

For Chapter 1 so far, I've only been using Yrden.

Edit: This is on hard difficulty
