cloud8521: just told the steam fourms about it and almost got universally flamed :P

then they said that people need to learn to play and that blocking is perfect as is ,, the last part making me laugh
Who cares about steam forums? ,p

Actually, i did this mod only because it was requested and i had 10 minutes of time.. but i won't judge people who want to play the game differently. Modding is about doing things developers didn't do. And not about pleasing people who don't want to play the mod.

I am sure, given another month, we'll see fancy mods but only when the games resources are fully opened up. Currently cdred can't even install their forum software, so i wouldn't count on an SDK anytime soon.

people take it as their personal mission to hate people for wanting something different, its sad. there it happens every day.

Freewind: so how do people think of rolling around like a ball in combat?
well it IS a roll-playing game :D

i gotta say though the henchmen in this game sure knows how to fight and block my attacks. I guess Salamandra went cheap in the first game..
Just give us 3 vigors and make rolling cost 1 vigor. That should make things interesting. I figure if a block costs a vigor rolling around should too. I see some people playing and they look like sonic the hedgehog :)

I wish i knew how, that was my original idea to fix blocking via mod - i actually increased vigor to 4, but found no way to have rolls decrease vigor at all;p

Then again, i didn't look all that hard.

sorry to ask this but say i wanted to take the mod off, how would i. im thinking about using it because i just dont like the blocking as is and that's final. but i dont want to ruin the game forever. is it possible to revert? i may not use it but i think it may be important to know for others too
Where have people gotten the idea that vigor is mana? Vigor represents the physical stamina of the character in my opinion, and as you've seen with several scenes casting 'spells' or other shenanigans is by no means easy on the characters physical condition.

Geralt's signs also follow this idea: it's a pool of current endurance that he is tapping into when casting. Removing blocking from using this resource would make absolutely no sense at all.

Also from a gameplay standpoint it's better to give the player tough choices to make even in combat, should I block or use quen for example. One would give me the immunity but the other might leave the opponent open for counterattacks.
Considering it's a mod and no one is forcing you to use it, why all the arguing about its balance implications.

Don't answer that. It was rhetorical.
you're saying that now, but you'll change your tune when the ogre penis mods come out.

I think we'd need to have ogres first. ;p

Edit: Btw, Google Image search for ogre penises was remarkably tame, all things considering.

You'd just delete the file, obviously ;)
It would revert when you delete it

so it does not overwrite anything important?

Mods don't overwrite anything to be exact. The entire games original files are in the pack0.dzip and are loaded from there, unless a version of these files is in the CookedPC subfolder with the proper directory structure (to be correct, with the exact same directory structure as its original counter-part in pack0.dzip)

i get it, it reads the eaiser one first for development reasons, maybe also for mods
