From what I gathered the combat mod does very little to enhance the game play.
I've also read that that the only major differences are an auto block feature and an increased movement speed for Geralt.

Have any of you gotten far into the game using this mod? Is it worth reinstalling the witcher 2 over again?
As it stands now, no. The mod ha some early issues and I think as people progresses they will find new ones and it's a home project for Flash so I'm not so sure how active he can be with this, you could take a look here:

Full Combat Rebalance 2

I'll wait a few days, perhaps a week to see if the issues are gone. The good news is that he seems to be getting a lot of feedback.

I've noticed a number of small but annoying issues already; if you install mid-game, it messes with your skill tree. Crafting things is off (doesn't recognize whetstones), and Cedric no longer sells grapeshot diagrams. Dark mode is UNBELIEVABLY hard, not like it was before. But overall it's good, just needs bug fixes.
Disappointing, I always wanted to get into the witcher series but couldn't due to the poor combat. The constant rolling in the witcher 2 pisses me off to no end. Instead of being called the witcher it should have been called The Roller: Spammer of Igni

Yeah. It changes up skill tree, of course you're going to need to start a new game for it to work properly.

Don't worry - the mod is obviously a labour of love, it'll get polished up.

Yeah, I just wish he had put in a skill point reset option so you can fix it. I'm looking forward to the finished product.

Looking at the changelog, he'll put up a clear disclaimer that states "You have to play new game for this MOD to work" :P Really, with changes this massive, there's absolutely no way in hell to make it work with saved games.

He no longer needs to, because you get it automatically (along with all the other potions, oils and bombs) if you take the "Witcher Secrets" skill on the new alchemy tree.
I'm plaing it on Dark more and so far I was enjoying combat, because after few hours (I'm in Flotsam and working my way to Iorveth) I was finally starting to get into it. If there is one seriously wrong thing with it though, it's AGAIN the absence of any tutorial - at least youtube video would be nice, when you jump into combat (especially on dark more), you'll get crushed. So many things have changed and many people are having serious problems - I don't think it's because the system is bad, but because it forces you to experiment and find out on your own.

Sadly, there is a huge downside to this. There are so many bugs, my favourite is getting stuck while throwing bomb (basic animation stance), and right now also the inability to craft certain rare items like the blasphemers swords (mod messes up the ingrediences), which makes me especially mad. The sad things is, even if you turn it off, all these problems with crafting etc. remain, so either start new game, or suffer through it.

Overall, I suggest to wait. Once they patch those hopefully not so severe bugs, go for it.

I'm enjoying it. When I started, I was dying often, but then I kinda got used to the flow of the combat :) It feels really exciting and requires precision, since every mistake can be your last. It's not that hard once you understand the mechanics, but without any tutorial that can be a real problem.

I'm also enjoying combat on Dark Mode... But I'm really not enjoying a few bugs. Especialy bugs connected with Dark Mode outfits (unique sets).

I finally get Blasphemer's Outfit (with fix for whetstones) but every pieces of outfit have no bonus effects (as every other armors) and also swords no draining the enemies HP's. Geralt have still the same HP bar.

And actually I'm not sure, if that is bug in FCR or somewhere else.

Can someone confirm this? Thanks.
> So how is the combat rebalance mod?

Did not check. Once I'm delivered a soup that has been urinated into, I'm not going for the same food again.
Can anyone confirm this mod is now worthy of installing as a finished product?

I'm actually dying to try it out, as I hate current combat system (broken Demon's Souls copy), but wouldn't want to try it unfinished and disappoint.

It's funny how years after the game release, it's still not a finished product.

I've been using FCR on a new save for the past few days and it's been running fine. I imported a Witcher 1 save and all has been peachy. I'm on CH3 right now... The game flies by when you're having fun...

Version 1.1a of FCR2 is out and should be final. And combats are really fun now.
