Hi all,

For me the games runs well enough and hasn't crashed yet (famous words).

However, the save game speed is very low - about 30s for each save. Loading is vrey fast compared to this, which is strange.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Or is it specific to my setup (user profile on a network share)?

Thanks for any insight!

I haven't the slightest clue to your problem, but as a gauge, it only takes me seconds to save. In fact i practically keep running with barely a stop when i quicksave.

What are your PC specs like?

Just for comparison sake, I'm running an I7-2600 @ 3.4GHz with 8 GB Ram.

Hrmm, that's interesting. I can play on high plus some extra settings so I don't think it's the computer (Radeon 6970, Phenom X4 something, 8GB RAM). I'll try moving the save game directory to local disk instead of network.

Thanks for the fast reply!

Wait your savegames are on a network?! Thats definitely gonna slow things down a lot, let us know how it goes.

Yep, I keep my entire profile on the network, so that I have automated backups. So far I haven't had issues in any game with this setup (except old WinXp games that didn't properly support redirected folders).

And Witcher2 only has problems with saves; loads are fast.

Anyway, after moving my entire Documents directory back to local disk, the save speed is now… 2 second, or less. I guess I'll send a note to the developers about it, it's strange degradation just for having the save directory on network share.

Thanks!
