Ash3y: And for TW3 I wouldn't mind a combat system similar to what Mount & Blade uses.
I wouldn't mind either. The combat system in M&B is great.

BlazeKING: -A return to five chapters + Prologue/epilogue that builds up into a great finale like in TW1

-A TW1 inventory/merchant system

-Drinking and drinking games

-A return of alcohol bases, oil bases like lard etc and bomb bases that you can loot or find

-A non QTE fistfighting choice

-More interaction between characters..playfulness, funny moments

-Better UI like in TW1

-More informative/creative journal/bestiary

-A return to memorizing potion ingredients and not needing lists that fill up inventory

-More involving and power creating attribute/leveling system

-Storage system

-There's a lot more but I'll finish with this...GROUP STYLE ATTACK !! and more monsters :D
Pretty much everything that made Witcher 1 great. Yeah I have to agree with this. Most of the things they changed for W2, was not in anyway needed. In fact because of some of these changes, it does not feel like a witcher game to me. I liked it as it was, so why change something that already works? I just dont get it. Call me crazy if you like, but the new combat system, inventory, wolfs head (odd addition to say the least as an item finder when you know people will look all over the place for items, so why even create it as such?), and many more things that were added but not as useable as it was playing W1 were fine as they were. Trying to spruce something up and making changes can sometimes work. However in this case, im sorry but for me it does not.

At this point however, I have not been able to play more than 10 minutes of it because of the whole aspect ratio thing (big honking black bars at the top and bottom of my screen, smooshing up everything to the point of I can barely see anything). The storylines could be amazing, and I could probably get used to the combat system and such. But from what I have seen, I am not so sure this game interests me as much as W1. However I never played W1 from launch either, so that could have been worse than this one :P But the final product I do like, and I am still waiting for the aspect ratio to be sorted so I can sink my teeth into this game.

Less fighting people, more fighting monsters.
About 30% more content.

thelostdunmer: Honestly, a game that is guaranteed to play well even on an average PC.

New areas to explore and "hunt" on!

Please bring back the original music score of the Witcher with only Adam Skorupa as composer.
to expand the first idea. it should still scale up to run well on great computers
A place to store stuff.
Junk For Storage inventory category - for storing Junk quickly w/ one click at a storage chest.

Able to remap controls in in-game menus.
Able to delete saved games in-game menus.
Able to change graphic settings in-game menus.
Toolkit / SDK.
Game difficulty somewhere b/t Witcher 2's Easy and Normal - Easy feels TOO EASY, Normal often feels TOO HARD.
Ability to Strafe left and right.

TW1 was already a little light on some RPG elements and some were further stripped away in TW2. It's still a very good game but I'd take TW1 over TW2 any day. If they can somehow mate the graphics, voice acting and combat from 2 with the skill tree, game length, interface, alchemy, and level design of the first game you might just have the best ARPG ever.

This new engine works well so they should stick with it outside of some minor tweaks. Because of that they will have more resources to devote to the actual game play aspects so they can incorporate all of the suggestions here. It's not like this engine will look horribly out of date in 2-3 years. Heck it still might be the best on the market at that time.

I'd also add that while I don't expect an 'open world' game by any means from The Witcher, what I would like to see is the "open map" design. I don't want to be able to walk seamlessly like Gothic from Chapter 1-2-3-4-5, but what I'm looking for is less pre-defined pathways and perhaps even alternate routes to open up new choices.

Frankly that should come in THIS game via patches. Along with a revamp of the inventory UI.

Kalfear: 1) Seem to ask this of every developer and no one seems to do it, but its so obvious to me and such a immersion builder.

VOICED OVER notes, letters, books.

227: Life must be pretty hard for you to get immersed in, since that doesn't happen in real life :)

Definitely agree with the other two, though.
It would be but sadly you and I obviously dont live in the same reality as I get a audio book a month from audible.com

So you cant stop trolling now.

Thanks :)

TheCheese33: A good ending?
I actually didn't mind the ending. It answers some of the questions raised in TW1 while setting up TW3. It certainly wasn't as 'random' or 'abrupt' as some people make it out to be (imo).
The ability to remap keys in-game and Ability to Strafe left and right.

And I want a Witcher medalion, in metal so it will not get damaged.

Since some people finished very quickly either they are very god or the game needs more content. I would like a more open world like the Fallout series, but I doubt that will happen.

Possibility of random events so you can play on after the main quest is finished.

Everything else has been covered.

Regards MarkL
Eh. I think its a bit early to start thinking about witcher 3. Expansion packs on the other hand....
i would like to see 6 chapters instead of 3:) and the ability to go between towns and city's-

more open world:)
What I'd like to see for a sequel:
- the concept of "private propriety" in game. I want people who look after their possessions, and eventually some clever gameplay mechanic to trick them. Gothic/Risen saga are a good example for that, with their stealth/lockpicking/pickpocketing system.

- An actual tridimensional and interactive world. Once again, just look at Gothic/Risen. Let's face it. World in TW2 is stunning to look at but it's pretty much corridors connecting big "rooms". I'd rather see it as a proper seamless land. I want the chance to explore everywhere, climb and jump from any place and so on.

- some decent stealth system, the ability to sneak pretty much anytime I wish to and a game which makes the feature useful here and there.

- A loot/craft system less focused on collecting tons of junk and more focused on few but meaningful materials/ingredients.

- the whole thing about investigating on monsters and how to get rid of them was simply brilliant. Please, give us even more of that.

- more character interaction, not just with friends but even with villagers and so on.

- grid inventory and/or a better system for recipes and books. I don't want to be forced to keep dozen of diagrams, let me just memorize them and then sell/destroy the paper.

- unique craftmen with their unique specialities. Maybe even in form of quests to obtain something rare.

- no more invisibile walls or unlikely barriers to limit my freedom (no more bushes or half meter tall "rock barriers, for instance).

Guess we don't, because my reality doesn't allow an audiobooks site to dictate every note I find lying around. Just saying, some of us (meeee) would find it incredibly distracting.

More on topic, I want back the reticule or whatever it's called from the first Witcher. It made looting things and interactions in general much easier to control.
