In your opinion what is the hardest boss fight you had to do? The one where you might have turned down the difficulty or the one that gave you the most problems or scared you the most when trying it on insane.

For me the hardest was the fight against Lotho neaar the elven baths in chapter one. I have to turn it down to normal mode to even have a chance at it, and then I usually die a couple of times.
The Elven Bath Letho fight for me too, although I think if I had a leveled Quen I could probably still beat him fairly easy.

He's just sooo overpowered at that point. It's really the only reason I havnt started an Insane mode run, I know i'll die there if I go for it, lol.

Elven bath Letho for me aswell. First time I died (on insane) because he threw a burning bomb at me and the arded me before the fade to black effect had worn off.
I don't know if it counts as a "boss" fight, but I must have failed some 15 times fighting the wraiths in Melitele's Heart Quest.
And even then, I had to look up how to do it ... score 1 for buggy scripting, I guess.

I never had an issue with Letho at the baths, 'cos I was playing magic and had a leveled Quen ... and about 40 bombs.
For me it was definitely Kayran... Letho at baths was quite tough too. But since I used Aard and dodge a lot, he was not impossibly tough to beat.

About Kayran I hated how all the actions needed to be performed just at the right moment. You missed the sweet spot? Die. You failed at right timing? Die. You cast spell too late? Die. You had problems with camera? Die. There were simply too many deaths to my taste. Every attempt (almost) I got a bit further, but then I screwed again. And the final blow? What the? I didn't even know how should I kill the bastard... I tried to wun towards it's eye to smash it, but then i got killed again. I tried to run around him and stab him to the back, dead again. What the? When I tried to run on the collapsed bridge, I was always hit by hurl stones... Although this fight was great idea with a lot of potential, it was made far from what it could be.
Letho at the Baths wasn't so bad for me, but I upgrade my swords every chance I get. Just trying not to get too quick on the trigger as far as weapon & armor enhancements go as it seems that once you fill the slots, a better enhancement comes along.

It seems that adding runes to your swords, especially the +7 damage + 8 bleeding one is probably the way to go. I tried to save those for chapter 2 but maybe I need to use them early on.
I play with modded Quen; so it is never op, no matter what the spec. With that in mind, hands down, the Operator is the toughest for me.
The Operator by far - over 20 tries to kill him.
probably the first golem i encountered, simply because it can OHKO you in a single charge, and you encounter it in pretty much an alley with not a lot of room to dodge.

operator, letho, etc. were only hard until i figured out their pattern.

Indeed. After dying the first 10 times on the Kayran, and having to constantly press Skip to skip the cutscene, I hated that fight. WITH A BURNING PASSION. And then running up the collapsed bridge, it was just, well not fun. Not in the "Oh cool a challenge!" kind of way but the "HAHA, looks like you have to do it all over again sucker!" kind of way
The Operator when trying to kill him without Quen/Red Haze cheese.

Definitely operator for me, gargoyles are sick.
I would have said The Operator, but on my hard run through I probably died 10 times to Letho bath and only 5-6 to The Operator.
On my first run through, I went to the burnt hospital very shortly after arriving in Flotsam in Act1. I got raped so many times by those wraiths, I finally left and went back later on - after I had leveled up some and grabbed better armor and swords.

They're much easier later on... LOL
