Hello,

despite all those different endings. I would like to goon play after the end.

Is there any information about whether this is or will be possible?
I hate to play with the thought to have been set back and a "big task" ahead of me, that I am just ignoring (meaning the endgame).

I would like to continue playing, maybe visit one or another companion Ciri, Jen, Triss ....

But in that way it seems very unsatissfying
When you finish the game and go back to the menu, it tells you that you may continue, but at a point prior to the last chapter. None of the main characters are available, but some minor ones are. I went back for a brief look, and I found Dandelion in his bar, Priscilla still in hospital, Cerys in her room, though I didn't check far. The point is to complete unfinished side quests -- all main story quests are unavailable, as are any that are precluded because of events.

Yes, thats my point. I find this situation very unsattisfying. I mean I understand that it is to continue sidequest and all, but thats a very hollow game, without main chars.

And furthermore. I fear that nothing can come after that. No DLC can fix it. since i dont have a savegame "after" endgame. I mean this is supposed to be an "open world". Although it is meant map-wise (whats very misleading too btw. since its only three regions which i cant reach on food).
Compare it to Skyrim again: the main quest ends but you dont have the feeling of getting pushed out the door.

Anyways I love the game but I am very disappointed with those points. I had hoped for more. I am writing this in the hope, that just my information is wrong and someone has tipps for a live (erhm game) after main storyline.
So when I compare it to Skyrim, it turns out Skyrim has about 500 maps as every single time I enter a cave it loads. How is that more open world?
Does the game warn before once you can initate the last main quest?

Yes. There comes a no return point, and the game warns you.
Reading your comments I am really disappointed now...
Honestly what is the point in kicking you out of the game , after you finish the last quest/battle ???!
This is not open world for me (also I did not like that you cannot travel between the different zones on foot) ...

I don't see a reason why this was implemented that way... same as in Witcher 2.

Anyways, apart from that the game is great so far!

No, don't.

He compares the design concept, not as games, in which he is right.
There are some gameplay designs better implemented in Skyrim.
Thanks for your answers. And thank you for staying nice, I appreciate that.

First I am not comparing Skyrim on a benchmark basis. I just used it to explain one point or two. Thank you getomafia.

It is right that Skyrim is loading the patchwork maps. And i in no way like loading screens when opening doors and city-gates. Point accepted mmarci, on the other hand, when i play and look at TW3 map i see only three playable regions. I have to jump from one to another via waypoints.

Again, I am asking for correction here not whining, maybe i got something completely wrong.

Btw. you dont get kicked out, but you get resetted back to the point before starting endgame, what left me with a blank face to be honest. And a big questionmark over my head .. .asking and what do i do now?
I restarted the game completely with a fresh char and i am planing to take some different turns. And! I am staying way longer at side quests and treasure hunts, but when I am at the end this time theres nothing intresting left to do.
Oh wait yes, I have to replay the endgame to get back resetted again. This makes me sick, i want to play this game "forever" (at least as long as skyrim).

Again I am not saying one or the other game is better or not. I am only saying some thing irritate me more in one then in the other game.

edit: I just saw that this reflects more or less the CDPR Forum Post: link at least I am not alone

Th other thing to think about:

if you play once, start to finish, nothing keeps you from entering the game again.
There are that many places and situations where you can change from your first play through - I do not think that the second run (or even the third) will be that much boring.

That said - I am the second time around, no rushing now, no urgent need to enter the main quest. And, by walking/horse riding instead of fast travel wherever possible, I found heaps of things I missed the first time playing the wild hunt.

You will not need Alzheimer to enjoy :)!

Well the Skyrim main quest is bland so...

baktanus: Well the Skyrim main quest is bland so...
I dont understand that. What I am still meaning is: I do the main quest until the end. I am perfectly fine, that the game is over more or less. Or more exactly: the main story is over. Got it.

What i dont want to accept, is the fact, that i get set back "before" the last quest to be able to continue playing. Finishing monsters and stuff.
I mean it would be fantastic to see the effects of your last decisions, (your house, or your live as a constant Witcher, Ciris tomb, ...). but getting set "BACK" is such a cheap solution/closure

The game is about a story developed in an open world, not about an open world with a story.
