Hi,

I hava a MSI Laptop, IC i7-4720HQ 2.60GHz, 8 RAM, 860 GTX force, and I have to play The witcher 3 at low-medium, not even high...and even that my fps dont go perfectly. Is this normal? Thanks

did you update your driver yet?

I'm surprised your laptop hasn't blown up to be honest. I wouldn't want to play something this heavy on a portable machine.

there are some extremely durable gaming laptops out there; my laptop could sometimes outperform my boyfriend's desktop ...that is before he upgraded his graphics card to a GTX 970 -_-

On current mobile PC graphics cards it's probably normal that you can't go much higher than "Medium" settings. What are your settings and resolution? Make sure you turn off "hairworks" since it's a heavy FPS killer.

Yeah, double-check it. You will gain more FPS if this option is disabled.

860M is way lower than min. specs. So I think you should be happy to play at all. This is a very demanding game.

Yeah, these options are disabled, its just i expected 860 to be better, as they recommended 770

Power is not everything though. Heat distribution etc is a big part of it. Unfortunately games like these can cook a computer. It would greatly reduce the life of your machine if you put too many hours into something this forceful.

It's summer now here in the Philippines so imagine the heat I have to deal with playing with this game. On the average my gpu's temperature can spike up to 73ºC. So what I did was to direct a small fan towards my rig, I had to remove the cover too. Now its just 63ºC.

I hope my gpu don't die on me very soon by playing Witcher 3.

i'ts also because there are so many hot chicks in Pinas that's why its also hot. but really, gpu@73C thats' not good.

If I smell burnt plastic that I'll know my gpu's overheating. Yikes.

The card isn't a GTX 860 though, it's an 860M right?

Its not only your GPU that is causing problems for you, your CPU doen't even meet minimum system requirements... so low to medium is still good for that hardware.

Then I'm so happy tho, my laptop has an air fan, and while playing TW3 it doesnt get too hot, it get much hotter when playing guild wars 2
