Hi,

Im running an i5 4690k at 4.2 ghz with GTX 970's in SLI on an msi z97m with 12G of ram and I cannot get this game to work at all. Ive been struggling since day one to even down load it and two days ago it was forth time lucky.

so far so frustrating.

But now even though it plays (after I had to wipe and reinstall all my codecs to get past the intro) I can get about five minutes on a good attempt ( but usually 50 seconds) and then it crashes to a black or orange screen with stuttered audio in the background. I have tried all the daft little "voodoo" fixes and none work. After contacting GoG support after 48 hours I recived a message saying it was my fault and to turn off my screen saver. ?.....? What screensaver?? Ive never had one on and on replying to this 24 hours ago nothing nada nowt scilence.

Can someone please HELP ME?

You can have my first born!

oh man, I want that first born!
Not sure what you mean by deleting codecs or voodoo fixes. I remember I had issues with the preinstall, had to reinstall the whole game.
On the GoG galaxy app, have you tried verify/repairing the game?
After a verify/repair, open the game folder and try running the tw3 application as admin.
Have you tried running the game on a single card?

I know this is basic stuff, but hopefully something might help.
Since Media Player Classic Home Cinema and VLC I never had the need to install any of those "famous" codec packs. Since I have no idea what that installer really does in the background I'd be fairly suspicious when using internet banking on such a computer.
Anyway, maybe Wither is a bit sensitive but I'm pretty sure that with such a high spec pc like yours there can only be a software issue and reinstalling Windows plus installing the newest drivers will cure your problems. Installing Win 8.1 is also pretty easy, just insert the DVD, put some corn on the enter and even a chicken will manage it ;)

Hi, Why are you messing with the codecs? You shouldn't need to be doing that. I am playing it just fine on an i7 4770k @ 4.5 Ghz and a GTX 680 card. It is possible the game was never optimized for sli / Crossfire. I have been seeing a lot of issues fron the Digital Downloads. One of the reasons I but hard copies of the games and that could be an issue ( corrupt installation ) .

downloaded files can be checksum verified (md5, sha1...) and are definitely recommended over a physical medium
don't know about gog galaxy since I downloaded using just the browser but steam is also capable of repairing just the corrupt files
I'm also definitely for digital distribution, especially if its drm free (can be downloaded, archived and then installed offline) like GOG's
