so maybe this was just me but i thought i read this game would not take advantage of a physx GPU well i was wrong it defiinitely is drawing from mine. so i have hairworks on 60 fps, if you have an old card (400 series or later maybe even older) throw it in there and set it up, it will help out your FPS alot.

I have a 660Ti as Phsyx with a 980 and hairworks wrecks my shit, like 5-10fps. I run it dedicated and it is getting worked. Haven't tried the new patch though.

Any idea if your mobo is running the two cards sharing the 16 pci-e lanes between the cards, or does yours support more than 16 over the pci-e slots? If it's 16x,16x or even 16x,8/4x would be fine so long as it's not taking away from your primary card. Curious if halfing the lanes to your 980 would cause that big of a drop.

I ask because I'm running a single 980 at 1440p with hairworks on and so far I've only seen dips down to the 20fps range at worst, with it hanging around 35-55 most of the time.
I just checked using NVidia control panel's vidual indicator. Even with 660Ti dedicated to Physx, the game is running Physx off the CPU. Anyone know how to fix this glaring problem?

By wrecks, I mean it drop my 60fps to 50-55 (I use Vsync). Making the cost of HairWorks (for Geralt only) 5-10FPS. Full HairWorks can by more like 15-20 fps hit.

also losers before u play the game next go to nvidia CP & on the top bar theres an option to turn physx indicator on, do that & see if it says (when in game) CPU or GPU...btw to me it sounds like w/ hairworks on it is just running entirely off the 660Ti for FPS to be that low, make sure u didnt dedicate the wrong card somehow

havent run fraps but tbh havent noticed any fps drops since the patch, before it wasnt guaranteed to be smooth if i had hairworks on

ah ok i think that is normal, i thought u said u were getting 5-10fps.

thing is its supposed to run off CPU, so idk if CDPR considers it a problem. but for some reason mine isnt...make sure its in fullscreen, and turn off fraps, see if it says GPU then. i have noticed a couple times i will load into the game & it says CPU. also when i played as ciri it said CPU, but when it went back to geralt it was GPU again.

i just installed the latest win10 build & my control panel reset, so when i started the game it was CPU physx again. but i checked the CP & i had to rededicate my other card to physx, now says GPU again.

dont know if it actually makes a difference but it should, hope u get it working

I'm not on Windows 10. With Metro first menu says CPU, then when you load the game is changes to GPU. The game is running full screen and I don't use garbage ass fraps :)

This shows CDPR stating it will have GPU Physx:
