My problem so far is that bombs and potions are way too down in inventory while oils stay up top... until now I had more need to use bombs that old letters I have found questing... so why do they get to be on top?
Guess I was wrong.

Even if some of the loot I left on the floor have stayed there for 20h+, I've just lost one near Oxfurt.
I'm a little pissed.

unbelievable that something they had to add via a patch (permanent storage) in TW2 is still missing in TW3 !

FabulousFab: I have to admit it is very strange that they didn't include a global storage for the player.
Even stranger, they added it later on in the Witcher 2 !

I miss the inventory system of "The Secret World" were you can create freely sub-inventory bags.

But, as some have said before, crafting & alchemy items weight almost nothing.
It's just junk & weapons/armor thant weight.

AND you can drop anything you want near a fast travel, no one will ever touch it.
Global inventory is immersion breaking. Pointless mechanic from RPG point of view. Horse should be a mobile chest. We could use more tabs. That is all.

Exactly, that's what I was thinking too. You can carry more with saddlebags so why not just make the horse as your storing unit. It's more comfortable as you can just call Roach and store your things and it adds more to the immersion.

That indeed is a good idea. But really the inventory does not bother me that much ,as the fact that we get to craft all these positions but have no easy way to use them efficiently. I estimate there to be about 30 or more yet we can only equip two potions at a time. This is where the messy inventory then comes to play ,as it constantly rearranges everything forcing you to look through dozens of positions all the time when you're looking for something specific.

A good solution for this imo would be to rethink the quick menu. Instead of the zoomed in view with limited space, they should resize it a bit to make room for more slots. Magic remains on the top. The left and right should Then be dedicated to alchemy. One Slot for each type. 2 slots on the left for example for Potions and Concoctions and one on the right for Oils. The bottom should be dedicated to the bombs. Crossbow and special items like the lamp could then be moved to the slots where alchemy items are currently equipped. Items should be automatically loaded and sorted alphabetically into their categories in the quick menu and we should be able to switch between them directly from the menu.

Have to agree, it is rather annoying searching for a particular potion and bomb everytime since you run out of them so easily and you are limited to only two of each type. It feels like the inventory and the quick menu suffer from consolification.

Like your idea but I wouldn't limit the menu with categories where you have bombs on one side and potions on the other instead just let you have slots where you equip everything as however you like. For example I don't use bombs that often so I would pick more potions over bombs. Some people may prefer it the other way around. Thus you have more freedom of choice.

Yup makes sense.
