Hey all,
Been out of the loop lately with games so I just bought a 'gaming' laptop and installed this Witcher 3, and my specs seem to be fine, but I can't even make it through the tuturial.
So where do I head for troubleshooting? I don't want to waste anyones time here, so just point me in the right direction and I'll be on my way!

Try one of the stickies:

What exactly is your problem? You have difficulty understanding how to move your character, press a mouse button? Or are you having issues with the game running like a mule?

If you got a gaming laptop, brag about it and paste that beauty here :D I would gladly welcome you to the gaming laptop family but I can't see the required tool :P

Check if you are running TW3 on dedicated GPU. Sometimes people run games on integrated GPUs. Right click on the game's shortcut and you will find the rest with ease. It is the 'Run with...' option :)
Yeah system specs will help a lot. Not accusing you specifically, but a lot of people think they have a beastly rig when it's really a kitten. Like in those farmers commercials. You think you're covered for this (insert wild and outrageous Ferrari) but you're only covered for this (show a little girl's bike with training wheels and a bell).
Hey, what a fun bunch. Thanks for the advice so far!
To answer your questions..

-this isn't support?
-I will check those stickies this weekend!
-my issue is that I can start the game, and get into the intro for a minute or two, and then it just stops and exits, no error, no nothing.
-when I said I got a gaming laptop, I should have said that I went to Best Buy and asked for a gaminh laptop and walked out with this Lenovo.
-Funny, I don't see a Run With option?
-I would love to post my specs! Are they contained in a text file called Computer Specs.txt?

Thanks again,
Your softcore gamer,
Dan

Please tell me you know a thing or two about laptops :P And that you are not trolling man :D
Oh boy, I hope you manage it somehow but from my expirience.. never ask a media store guy for "good" computer stuff. Even if they sell the good stuff, they certainly dont sell it to you if they can give you the crappy stuff that noone else buys xD

At least that's the situation here. :D

You're mostly better off browsing the Internet, checking user reviews and buying from trusted computer hardware specialized shops.

Personally I buy PC components and build them together myself. Gaming Laptops have come a long way but the next game that doesn't run well on Laptops is always just around the corner.

I remember DayZ Standalone Alpha that plainly ignored the Nvidia Graphics Card inside the laptop and tried to run the game with Intel Integrated Graphics 3000... which.. if you havent guessed... is good for tetris but not for real games xD
So you have a Lenovo Y50, right?
Anything below isn´t a "gaming" laptop and will certainly give issues.
Man you are really not trolling? Don't ever buy a laptop for gaming. Go to Computer, then right click and select properties, then you will see a window that will tell you your main components and Laptop name, etc.

With that info, you can serch Google to find what GPU your Laptop has inside, mind you, The Witcher 3 is veryyyy demanding, you won't run it on just any latop.

And when you said you install it, you bought it first right? The developers need to eat too you know :P I recommend you buy the Physical version :)
If the Laptop is new, he probably has Windows 8 on it. That means there probably is no "Computer" Button on the "Desktop App" (rofl) without further configuration.
Since you don't seem to be into tech, just tell us your Windows Experience Index:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/what-is-windows-experience-index#What-is-windows-experience-index=windows-7

That gives you and us a rough idea of how your laptop performs.

Then he should "upgrade" to Windows 7 :) Oh God Windows 8 was a punishment from hell. You needed special permissions and apply administrative rights for changing the resolution... (not really but not far from it).

Hey folks,

No, I'm not trolling. I was attempting humor.
I'm not totally computer illiterate.

Lenovo edge 15 model 80K9
Intel i7-5500 cpu @ 2.40 ghz
8gb ram
geoforce 840m video

Yes, I didn buy the software and I had to buy a cd drive to insall all those discs.

So my issue is that the game crashes to my desktop without any errors.

Are there logs that I can review? Or anything that will point me in the right direction?
My laptop passes the requirements for the game, so I'm hoping that I can get it to work.
I just dont know where to look for support yet.

Thanks!
