I'm well into the game now, 3rd act, but I've only just patched my game since day one. One of the many things I wanted to do after patching is go see the Pellar who now apparently has a lot of recipes.. but when I go to his hut near Blackbough, he isn't there any more. His goat is there but no matter what time of day I go, he is not there himself.

Where else can he appear in the game?

In front of Keira's hut (which is probably the most likely place to look), as well as on Fyke Isle.

Yes, chances are you've got an unfinished quest called "Forefather's Eve". You'll need to complete that before you can talk to the Pellar again.

And if you haven't got the quest Forefather's Eve yet, you might find him at the Crow's Perch quartermaster's.

In Crows Perch you should get his quest yes... but to be honest I'm not sure that quest still exists in the third act. Wouldn't be surprised if the Pellar is gone forever at this point of the game.

Oh yes.. I didn't notice that. Thanks. That's what the problem was.. I'd gone so far into the game I'd forgotten about that Level 7 quest.
