Simple question, how to make him attack without moving? This is very annoying, same way why he cannot walk back and always have to face his enemy (there is kind of a 'lock').
I have no problems with the story, but some game mechanics choices are very frustrating... battle know looks like I'm almost playing God of War. Was it done to appeal more to console people?
It makes nekkers/drowners and rotfiends so tough to kill... You back off to avoid, you strike, before you land a hit they already hit you back..

The combat style is heavily influenced by the books. As for the mechanic itself.. i don't think he actually misses an enemy that stands in front of him by leaping over. For me it does attack rather normal too when situation demands it.. leaping occurs when closing distances, or in combos. I've noticed him combining some attacks with evasion (again influenced by the books) which made it really interesting. Indeed, it might get some time to get used to the style.

This is so true, when i play Witcher 3 combat it feels MUCH like a real witcher, sidestepping and attacking and dodging thats what the witcher is about !

Plus being a witcher, u have better physique than normal people, and being mobile while attacking is an advantage not some god-of-war thing =P
Well this is all true, but why can't I just wait for my enemy to approach me... how this would contradict the book?
Well I have no problem with the combat system right now.
I'm glad this game have a "real combat system".
I mean, it's not EASY and you NEED to attack, dodge etc...

Game where you juste need to spam all your spells/atk are annoying.
This one is pretty cool.

Don't forget to "lock" your enemy you are facing.
And "unlock" them when it's needed.
