All of the music tracks that were in the original release of Civilization II had been removed, however - only some of the "new" ones remained. When I was in high school this was on all the computers in the school for some reason. I played a ton instead of doing schoolwork, and eventually bought it for at home myself, playing against my brother often. I’d played the original Civilization once in eighth grade in a mapping elective, but this was really my introduction to the Civilization series.
Civ 2 introduced the option of alternate history models to the game with the add-on Fantastic World. To my knowledge this is unique among the games in the Civilization series. For me there was a great deal of enjoyment in tackling Civ by playing with alternate scenarios that included dinosaurs or starting from an embattled Old Grange. It was great to have multiple evocative game experiences while being confined to a 80286 with a small hard drive that could hold a single game at a time!
I remember playing this game a lot on Playstation 1 and on PC and it was always so fun and interesting. The gameplay was so satisfying for me and there was always so much things to do in this game while building up your civilization. It felt great to explore the map and establish cities that started to grow and became huge in population. The videos for the wonders of the world were amazing. Plus the pack with the scenarios with dinosaurs, sci-fi aliens and spaceships and so on were also great addition. It comes from that time when developers really made great games. This was one of the best turn based strategy games of it's era and I was very surprised to see that it has not yet been added here in GOG. This game deserves to be here with all the other old classics. I am sure that many people would buy and play this game again and again. Me included.
I really love this game and all the extra scenarios included. Please bring this one back as it is so much better than most of the games available today. I would have to play just one more turn and then I realized it was morning.
I had a History teacher in Middle School that had us play this game to teach us about early civilizations. Spent hours playing this game at home. Hands down my favorite Civ game ever.
Probably my most played game of the 1990’s, I spent countless nights thinking “just one more turn”. It’s an absolute masterpiece, and I would love to see this on GOG!
Civ II Gold has a lot going for it. It has an editor. It has a lot of variants from fans. It has actors portraying your advisors and changing costumes and mannerisms as you enter new epochs. For those who are so inclined, it even has a cheat mode. I play Civ III a lot with some additions I got off the inet, but I really miss the advisors, the caravans, the dinosaurs, and the gods.

Kickle CubicleIt once was a peaceful kingdom of friendly, kind people. Unfortunately, this land didn't stay so serene as a wicked wizard king wanted everything for himself. It is your job as Kickle to progress through all of the areas within each of the four lands in the country and eliminate all of the Wizard's henchmen and rescue your friends who are held captive in a dreamless sleep.
Kickle Cubicle is a captivating puzzle game much on the lines of the old coin-op game Pengo. More recently though, it contains similar concepts seen in the Lolo series of NES carts where planning and strategy is more important than quick moves.
Your main weapon is your 'chilling' ice breath. Breathe on the enemy and they instantly freeze! Give them a kick and they're out of your way! Clear a couple dozen mazes and you come to the end of the land you're in where you must then beat one of the Boss creatures.
Throw in springs, hammers, bonus stages and secret traps and the game quickly turns into a puzzle game with levels which start easy but increase in difficulty as you get better!
