Story:Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition was bundled both prior expansion packs and added options for networked and hotseat play, and features tweaked AI. All of the music tracks that were in the original release of Civilization II had been removed, however - only some of the "new" ones remained. When I was in high school this was on all the computers in the school for some reason. I played a ton instead of doing schoolwork, and eventually bought it for at home myself, playing against my brother often. I’d played the original Civilization once in eighth grade in a mapping elective, but this was really my introduction to the Civilization series.
Civ 2 introduced the option of alternate history models to the game with the add-on Fantastic World. To my knowledge this is unique among the games in the Civilization series. For me there was a great deal of enjoyment in tackling Civ by playing with alternate scenarios that included dinosaurs or starting from an embattled Old Grange. It was great to have multiple evocative game experiences while being confined to a 80286 with a small hard drive that could hold a single game at a time!
I remember playing this game a lot on Playstation 1 and on PC and it was always so fun and interesting. The gameplay was so satisfying for me and there was always so much things to do in this game while building up your civilization. It felt great to explore the map and establish cities that started to grow and became huge in population. The videos for the wonders of the world were amazing. Plus the pack with the scenarios with dinosaurs, sci-fi aliens and spaceships and so on were also great addition. It comes from that time when developers really made great games. This was one of the best turn based strategy games of it's era and I was very surprised to see that it has not yet been added here in GOG. This game deserves to be here with all the other old classics. I am sure that many people would buy and play this game again and again. Me included.
I really love this game and all the extra scenarios included. Please bring this one back as it is so much better than most of the games available today. I would have to play just one more turn and then I realized it was morning.
I had a History teacher in Middle School that had us play this game to teach us about early civilizations. Spent hours playing this game at home. Hands down my favorite Civ game ever.

The MawIn The Maw players control Frank, who in turn controls The Maw via an electrical leash that he uses keep him at his side. Gameplay involves guiding The Maw in specific directions to clear obstacles and complete levels. Command & Conquer: Red Alert - RetaliationOn August 28, 1998, Westwood Studios released Red Alert Retaliation for the PlayStation, a compilation of the two PC expansion packs, including the secret Ant Missions. It is almost identical to the PlayStation port of the original Red Alert, except it introduced some new units like Tesla Tank, Shock Trooper, Chrono Tank and Mechanic, and included 105 skirmish maps. Gameplay also included an in-game sidebar code called Soylent Green Mode. In this mode all ore fields turn to people/civilians, and ore trucks harvest them with grisly sound effects.
It also included 19 exclusive briefing FMV (full-motion video) clips that were not in any of the PC expansion packs, which had none. All of the videos are shown when the player either starts playing through the operational theatre from the beginning or when all the missions of the theatre are accomplished. In other cases, the briefing text is shown. The FMVs include a general for each side, telling the player the mission objectives; The Allied General Carville later appears in Red Alert 2 while Soviet General Topolov has made no further appearances in the Red Alert series.Warfare

Dune II: The Building of a DynastyDune II is often considered the first mainstream modern real-time strategy game and established many conventions of the genre. Even though set in Frank Herbert's famous Dune universe, the game is only loosely connected to the plot of any of the books or the films based from them. Controlling either of the three Houses, the player must fight a number of battles against the other Houses. In the early levels, the goal is simply to earn a certain number of credits, while in the later missions, all enemies must be destroyed.
The single resource in the game is the Spice, which must be collected by harvesters. The spice is converted to credits in a refinery, which are then spent to construct additional buildings and units. There are two terrain types: buildings can only be constructed on stone, while the Spice is only found on sand. However, units moving on sand attract the large sandworms of Dune, who are virtually indestructible and can swallow even large units whole. As levels progress, new and more advanced buildings and units are made available, including structures like a radar station, a repair facility or defense turrets and, for units, various ground troops, light vehicles and tanks. Each House can construct one unique special unit, and, after building a palace improvement, can unleash a unique palace effect.Science fiction
