Next to OoT it was my first rpg (especially my first turn based rpg) before I played wild arms and rhapsody, I would love to play it again but I no longer own a super nintendo and I have no idea if I even still have my copy of the game. This is a game I never expected to see playable outside of pure luck of getting your hands on both of those things, would really love to play it again. The soundtrack is something I feel so nostalgic for, and I loved the intro to the game and the town by the sea Will grew up in.

dude! i kept playing this game until i beaten it on super nintendo back in the day! it was so frustrating to try to find a save spot in the game and always had to leave my super nintendo on while i was gone back then! the game had such a fantastic story with a twist that i never expected in a game! the combat is the same feel like secret of mana but different in its own way. would definitely buy it and add it to my long lists of video game collections that i still need. keep bringing in the classics! i love it!
An legend in its own time. Illusion of Gaia was one of my very first RPGs I've played, the story of Will and Kara's growth from naive young kids to caring mature individuals who were willing to sacrifice everything for earth, holds a testament to old school story telling, that most modern games today don't have. So restoring this classic for a more modern audience, just might bring back a little hope back to this world.

One of the first games I ever played, the thing I claim made me love history and to this day one of my favorite games ever. How many of you actually A) got ALL the red jewels, and B) waited in line in Euro? ...to this day if I see a line in front of a store in a game i assume the same gimmik and will wait 10 minutes to be proven false T_T I also love all the music and listen to them regularly - with a certain one being my perfect cure for insomnia.

Crimson II
Crimson IIYears have passed since the evil Crimson was defeated. Peace was restored, and humanity enjoyed an era of prosperity. But a new demonic being has arisen, ending the peace in the world. Five heroes must find each other and unite in order to vanquish him. The sequel to Crimson retains the basic gameplay of its predecessor and is a medieval-themed role-playing game with overhead exploration and first-person turn-based combat against randomly appearing enemies. The first part of the game is broken into chapters, each dedicated to one of the five heroes; afterwards, they are united as a party and continue the quest together, similarly to Dragon Quest IV.

Zavas II: The Prophecy of Mehitae
Zavas II: The Prophecy of MehitaeThe follow-up to Zavas is, like its predecessor, a fantasy role-playing game with Japanese anime-like aesthetics, but more Western-oriented free-form gameplay with more emphasis on character development than on a character-driven plot. Through a series of choices the player make the protagonist (always named Majon, but with different family names) to be a prince, the son of a merchant, or the son of a fisherman. In the beginning the player character undergoes a series of trials (which may include arcade-style mini-games, mathematical tasks, etc.) which determine his eventual attributes and also follow his growth until he turns sixteen and embarks on a quest to find companions and defeat an evil sorcerer in accordance with an ancient prophecy. Though the game has a traditional overworld with towns, hostile areas, and fairly simple turn-based battles, many of its gameplay features deviate from the standard Japanese template. Every NPC can be approached with different attitudes (including bribe and usage of items), and often a specific attitude is needed to further the hero's goals. Money can be earned and managed through various activities. Experience points are awarded for conversations and other actions besides combat. An important factor is the party's stamina: a certain amount of it must be reached in order to access key plot-advancing locations, and building up stamina through side quests and other actions occupies a considerable portion of the gameplay. The protagonist has a ship at his disposal from the beginning of the game, and it is possible to physically sail across the sea and access any location, provided the stamina level is high enough.

Crimson
CrimsonCrimson is a medieval-themed role-playing game similar to Dragon Quest. The player controls a lone character, a young man whose father sent him on a mission to defeat the evil monster Crimson before passing away. Exploration is done in an overhead fashion, and is divided into world map and hostile areas, which are usually maze-like and contain one or more dungeons each. In towns the hero can buy weapons, armor, and items, as well as rest in inns. Enemies appear randomly, and the battles are turn-based. The player character can either attack, defend, or use an item. Combat is viewed from a first-person perspective. Unlike Dragon Quest, there are no random encounters on the world map. Exploration is non-linear, i.e. the player has access to many areas of the map from the beginning of the game.
