Rampage 2: Universal Tour

Rampage 2: Universal Tour (1999)

by Avalanche Software, Midway
Genres:Arcade
Themes:Action, Science fiction
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer, Split screen
Story:Players choose one of the three original monsters to rescue. The player then uses the characters in the part of the world where the rescue is held. They work as a collective to break buildings, eat people, and destroy cars and this creates competition among players. When a player (literally) unlocks George, Lizzie, or Ralph, then they become playable characters. Once all the monsters are rescued, aliens begin to invade the earth, leaving the monsters the only ones who can save the planet they just helped partially destroy. After fending off the invasion on Earth, the monsters rescue Myukus (a cyclops-like alien) from Area 51 before chasing the aliens through space, destroying the aliens' bases throughout the Solar System and eventually rampaging through their homeworld.Show more

The last decent Rampage game by far. After this the franchise fell hard. Rampage 2: Universal Tour was a follow up to Rampage World Tour. Which is already a tough act to follow. You get a lot more monsters this time. You get to destroy a lot of locations including a few in space. Yeah it's a bit disappointing there's little to no other planet levels. Considering they ruined the following game with you forced to compete against AI monsters through out time. This would be the better end of the stick. The CD versions has these rememberable cut scenes to help tell the story. I actually felt this had the best story of the franchise. The game play is very similar to Rampage World Tour. For an console exclusive sequel it's quite good. I always enjoyed the soundtrack with it's effects to a degree. I actually both N64 Rampage games growing up. In some aspects it's surprisingly better than Rampage World Tour. It's perfect if you can't play Rampage World Tour simply go play this instead. You will be surprise how great this game is. Especially after you play the games following this. You'll be grateful to ever given this a try.

TrackMania: Build to Race
TrackMania: Build to RaceTrackMania: Build to Race is a racing game with a comprehensive track editor built into the game. This means the player can easily create new tracks by combining blocks of track pieces. Besides the normal straight and curved tracks there are also jumps, loopings, accelerators etc. to create custom racing challenges. This Wii version of the long-running PC racing series includes six background environments (stadium, coast, island, desert, snow and rally), each with a different car model (respectively the racing car, coupe, sports car, normal car, pickup and mini car). There are three modes: race mode, stunt mode and puzzle mode. In Race mode you simply have to finish a track in the fastest possible time. Each track has a predefined track record set by the programmers. There's a bronze, silver and gold medal time, which the player has to beat to earn those medals. In Stunt mode the tracks have a more acrobatic nature, and you have to finish them with as few restarts as possible. In Puzzle mode the player has to build a track connecting the fixed starting and finishing points using certain track blocks and then drive the track in the fastest time possible.
