Shadow the Hedgehog

Shadow the Hedgehog (2005)

by Sonic Team, Sega
Genres:Adventure, Platform, Shooter
Themes:Action, Science fiction
Game modes:Single player, Split screen
Story:The world is in peril as forces, both good and evil, make a play for the powerful Chaos Emeralds. In Shadow the Hedgehog, you can control Shadow and choose which side to fight for. This 3D platformer lets you use weapons, vehicles, environmental objects, and time and space manipulation to combat your foes. Although it is a 3D platform game as with the more recent Sonic Adventure games, the game's levels each feature up to three different missions (Hero, Dark, Normal) that the player may choose to complete. The game's plot depends on which mission is completed as well as subsequent playable levels. The game stars Shadow the Hedgehog and his quest to recover his memory, a goal he has been pursuing since his debut in Sonic Adventure 2, while an evil alien race known as the Black Arms is invading the planet.Show more

Shadow the Hedgehog is a fairly good game! Fun movement and mechanics, and some unique stories to it. It's a little difficult, but it feels like a proper successors to heroes. This game and Sonic Unleashed deserves a proper PC port.
is it a masterpiece? no. Is it the best sonic game in the catalogue? No. Is it my favorite sonic game of all time? absolutely. it sparked a middleschool hyperfixation in me so intense it actually fixed some self esteem issues. I spent so much time playing this game that i accidentally learned speedrun strats while A ranking the unlockable hard mode. I attempted to beat its actual 300+ endings, but after getting around halfway got burned out and let it rest. i'd love to see it be preserved and be available outside of roms (which tend to disappear) not to mention the modding potential.

This is such a great game! I have a great time going through each of its stages, the level design is great and the guns are really fun to use! It's basically Sonic (Shadow) with guns! You go fast, homing attack, spindash, but you can also carry a gatling gun twice your size!! I want this game to be preserved and for more people to be able to check it!

A game from my own childhood, one i loved back then (i was a really, really big shadow fan.. still am..) but nowadays realise is more of a mixed bag. I still like it, though. However, A PC Port brings the chance of some really insane mods that could fix the game. (perhaps a new version of the Reloaded mod that takes advantage of the fact the game would be on PC to add even more content!) It has my vote! This, Heroes, and Unleashed should all get modern PC releases..

After the success of the third Sonic movie, this game deserve to be available to purchase. Would make easier to mod it on PC than modding the Game Cube version.

The game may be flawed and trying to 100% the game is tedious. However, the gameplay is fun and it is fun choosing your adventure as you play the game. You could side with the heroes, Black Doom's alien forces, or just speed run to the end of the level to go neutral. I know this game was criticized for using guns in a "Sonic Game," but the gun mechanics are actually fun to use. Is it silly, yes. Does it make sense in a Sonic Game, probably not. But this game is about Shadow the Hedgehog. He isn't Sonic, and that what makes him cool. I want this game to be preserved, not just as a time capsule of the era this game came out, but also as a way for modders to make this game more interesting. BTW GameCube supremacy all the way!
Those games also need your vote!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Dune
DuneDune is a 1992 video game, based upon Frank Herbert's science fiction novel of the same name. Developed by Cryo Interactive, is the first of the Dune computer games. Dune blended adventure with economic and military strategy, and is considered by many the most immersive Dune computer game. Loosely following the story of the novel, the game casts the player as Paul Atreides, with the ultimate goal of driving the Harkonnen from Planet Dune, while managing spice extraction, military, and later, ecology through the native Fremen tribes. As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.
