Velgor: I only had a few minutes to check out the patch. I noticed the billboards and ads seem to be low resolution, however, my V has hair wearing her headband. Heh, that was nice. I'll be checking things more thoroughly later.
Same here, except my V was bald before. Now she has hair all the time, and the style changes every time I switch to different headwear. Weird bug... Can I not have a bald character anymore?
Otherwise, the game runs better than before (smoother framerate), and the UI is way more responsive. I'm not playing much until I figure out if it's possible to revert my character's appearance though.
Glad for the patch. I'll install it after this bard's tale 4 video finishes mixing down.

JakobFel: the first three free DLCs

frogthroat: This is great news. When you think marketing, when the game was still a mess it would be bad publicity to release DLCs. People would be up in arms shouting "why you release DLCs when there's still bugs?!" The release of first DLCs is a sign they are confident most game breaking bugs are now solved and they can start releasing new content.
Exactly, this is why I really do think we'll probably get the first expansion around the one year anniversary alongside the next gen upgrade. It'd only make sense, really, especially the "soft relaunch" rumor: with the negative reception the game received, people who buy the game on next gen consoles aren't gonna want to buy the game AND the expansion so soon afterward. Of course, those of us who own the game will need to buy the expansion but yeah, from a marketing perspective, it'd make a lot of sense to release the next gen upgrade with a major content expansion.

Csumbi: CP2077 is a whole different situation,
Yes, the world is more complex, the features are more complex (ray tracing, even things we take for granted like driving a car -- CDPR has never done a game with driving before), so it would be dishonest to expect as "smooth" launch as with The Witcher 3. Why "smooth" in quotation marks? Because...
avatar
Csumbi: the launch of this game was a disaster compared to W3,
I do believe you when you say you did not play The Witcher 3 from the beginning if you think the launch was not a disaster. Crashes, glitches, unresponsive controls, the UI was... how shall I put it nicely? Let's say "lacking". Even high hardware could not run 60fps.

It was fixed in a few months, but as you say "CP2077 is a whole different situation".
Turns out the Gig Small Man, Big Evil now completes, even though it's still found in the journal. For some weird reason Beat the Brat has come back in the journal. Glitch or extra DLC fight?
I don't think any amount of patching is going to fix this mess. I find it baffling why the game prompts me to engage in conversations with npcs that I'm not even looking at when I simply want to loot a container or read a data shard. I drive over to Vik"s to get my implant installed and when I get out of the car the npcs start running and ducking for cover. I'm like wtf is going on here? I didn't run anyone over nor did I draw a weapon and shoot anybody. Loot you 'still' can't pick up. Why not just remove the unlootable loot rather than leave it in there after what six patches? I start a new game after getting another big update and it's just disappointing to see things not really improving all that much.

The only reason the game will never be "fixed" is because people like yourself hold impossibly high standards and refuse to give them any of the credit where it's due. This is a major problem with gamers and it's a reason (among many) that I believe that gamers, rather than studios and publishers, are the largest threat to the future of this industry.

Yes indeed it's people like me who are the real problem not the industry itself whatsoever.

The industry isn't crafting impossible standards and then crying when those standards aren't met. They're also not the ones that heap praise on people until one mistake is made, after which that praise turns to a flood of vitriol and toxicity. That's entirely on gamers these days.

You must work in the industry otherwise you wouldn't be so salty about my comments.
CDPR lost me as a dedicated and loyal fan. I will never purchase another one of their games until it has long been used by the unfortunate people who will be duped. Their actions have turned me very negative towards the gaming industry.

with that being said, They are making progress in fixing the issues. I have not played in about 4 months and then logged in over 380 hours. I launched this new patch 1.3 and it loaded my previous 5 saves. the 6th one errored out and said it was corrupted. I don't recall, but it could have been a save on a CTD. So, my 5 previous saves seemed to work fine.

They are not making huge steps anywhere but making noticeable steps almost everywhere. We don't know if these are systemic changes that are required for further, more pronounced issue to be given more attention. They are moving in the right direction, albeit slower then we would like.

If you look at the change log, there was a lot of work done fixing things. I hope they keep moving, without additional costs to the base game, and build back a little trust and faith. Time will tell

How is the ability to loot something you look at or not to talk to people you are not looking at an impossible standard? That is some real basic functionality that really should not be an issue in the first place. Yes, there are things that people are asking for that might be considered impossible, but dont blame just the players, CDPR is equally at fault for advertising the game as the second coming of Jesus. Most of the thing players are asking for are nothing we have not seen in other games.

Not at a professional level, I do develop some stuff independently and, at the moment, just for fun (though I aim to get into things professionally in the years to come). It's not that, though. It's plain and simple to see just how damaging the modern gamer's attitude is to this industry.

How is it anywhere near deserving of hatred for a massive, ambitious, next-gen open world RPG to have bug issues? It wasn't even the worst launch I've ever seen before yet people acted as if Satan himself was behind its release. It's disgusting. CDPR never advertised anything that was beyond what they developed the game to be. You can't take cut content as a reason for "false advertising" or "too much hype" as people say, ALL games have cut content that can be added with DLCs and expansions, though that doesn't always happen... EG: KOTOR 2, which is widely considered to be one of the greatest RPGs of all time. It had major bugs and cut content issues, yet nobody threw tantrums over it. Why? Because the mentality of the modern gamer -- and the modern consumer as a whole -- is vastly different. Today, it's all about convenience, instant gratification and insistence on complete perfection... which is ironic, since Cyberpunk 2077 has a message against that level of consumerism. It calls out both hypercapitalism AND ultraconsumerism which, together, made a recipe for disaster. It's disturbing that our real world is on such a death spiral toward that sort of a dark future.

Ambition is not an excuse for releasing a broken game. They knew it was broken that is why they apologized.

You're right, they apologized, because they didn't realize it was as bad as it was. They apologized, yet nobody accepted that apology, they still treat them as if they're downright evil and that is one of a million reasons why I despise the modern gamer mentality.
