GameRager: Why do you think it'll happen that way? I've seen several threads which were on "edgy/sensitive" topics remain open/mostly civil here in general before, so why not this one?

ALL threads? I thought it only applied to purely political threads/spam/hate threads/etc.

And yeah, I miss when polite discussions could be had on almost any topic without problem. Oh well, thwese things sadly come with a growing userbase. :\

StarChan: And how emotionally retarded does one have to be, to feel that one is entitled to sex? Who would have to be on the receiving end of such a delusion? This is indeed twisted.
A society is measured by the way we treat the less fortuned. Either its a physical need or a psychological need - when we deprive a human of basic needs, the outcome is disastrous and is borderline cruelty. Countless times throughout the history we've seen how it goes when we threat other humans badly.

It should be a human right to have a sense of belonging, get free access to education, water, food, medical treatment and internet... and somewhere in that includes sex.

Just look how sex, or just some human tendering touch can enlighten a handicappeds day in an otherwise depressing psyche/life.

You, as a "functional" human with all limbs and what not may think it's disgusting but I'd say it's just being human...

GameRager: Topic 2: Notre Dame: Many are using the tragic event to blame every group they can, or are using the event to push their own narrative on other issues. I wish people would just focus on the tragic loss of history/possible lives instead. :\
Yes, there's a lot of very irritating views about this.
tbh I think some Catholics and right-wingers have read too much significance into this event, as a symbol of civilizational decline...cathedrals often caught fire in the pious middle ages as well, and thankfully the damage wasn't as great as feared at first. Unless it was arson by Islamists, neopagans, atheists or some other group, I see no wider significance in the fire.
Some reactions in social media and journalism are pretty disgusting though...people celebrating it as "payback for French colonialism" or whatever, or suggestions that Notre-Dame should be rebuilt with a minaret as a sign of multiculturalism...bizarre.

Sex, unless you mean prostitution, is not a commodity. It is a mutuality that arises between two or more people. If you think it is something that can be remedied somehow by showing up at the welfare office, you're going down a dangerous path.

What, and we aren't already down a dangerous path? You're oversimplifying it, you can't even demand to get money either. I'm not talking about just showing up on the doorstep of the wellfare office and demand sex. ;)

Besides, people can't choose to sell or buy sex, commodity or not. Today, even people in serious pain can not choose to get help to die. They either has to go to another country or live in pain for the rest of their life.

Then what do you mean? What is your non-simplified solution to distributing sex to the masses?

Har har. Opening a political thread with a 'No Politics!' rule is quite funny. Nice trolling. Including the 'No trolling' rule adds another layer of meta-trolling.

Let's see how long this thread lasts before it is closed.

Robotics might eventually provide a solution for people who want sex, but can't get it.
The way to fully functioning sex bots will probably not be without sacrifices though, mechanical malfunctions in such a sensitive area could have drastic consequences after all.

I have no answer, because where do I write it should be distributed to the masses? :P

Well, you wrote:

"It should be a human right to have a sense of belonging, get free access to education, water, food, medical treatment and internet... and somewhere in that includes sex."

Apparently you associate sex with necessities which are commonly provided by society; furthermore, your post was in the context of entitlement to sex. I think it's fair to assume that you think someone, somehow should provide this 'necessity'.

Feel free to tell me I'm wrong. I'd rather hope you did.

Calling something a human right doesn't magically render it immune to scarcity.

Update: Chris rock shunned/shamed for Whitney Houston joke

I found this "amusing"(not in a good way) that this was considered bad for Chris Rock to do, yet the MJ documentary was practically praised for dredging old allegations to light. Both are incidents where a deceased poc had their name dragged in the mud, yet one is good and one is bad. :\
