Yeah, should have been about double this in the positive before then, and the mods still ignore my requests to fix it or at least bring it to 0 or 1.

I think it was because of the sheer volume of these threads. It was mostly after...I think when Galaxy became a thing? GOG didn't let you search for usernames, so there were people all over the place making thread titles like "Ricky?" and "Jeff add me" and "HEYYYY RAAAAALPHH" and whatever which seemed silly and nonsensical until you realized what was going on. Sure, what the heck. I'll add you just because you're the first person I've ever seen to make one of these threads and go about it looking like an actual human who interacts with people rather than just "aDD ME PLZ I NEED FREND" and never being heard from again.

Oh, I remember the circumstances well enough, though I don't think I ever encountered the specific thread in question. I just dislike the attempt to "memefy" (memeify?) something mundane and forgettable. Then again, I find most memes unfunny. : |
