I'm sure someone out there will have already seen this but I thought it would be worth sharing here:

https://www.destructoid.com/the-bard-s-tale-iv-is-permanently-lowering-its-price-in-exchange-for-steam-and-gog-wishlists-518639.phtml

In a nutshell, the more wishlists the game appears on (GoG and Steam) the greater the launch rewards are likely to be. There seems to be some adventure modules and a permanently lower price point in the running.

For those that don't want to read the full link here's the breakdown:

At 100,000 wishlists: the torch from The Darkest Dungeon will be added to The Bard's Tale IV.
At 300,000: the price permanently drops from $40 to $35.
At 500,000: the price permanently drops to $30 and a new add-on called The Haernhold will release for free.

All the best,

BoBFiSh
A great idea imho to generate buzz.

That's not necessary. They're talking about the user wishlists, not the community wishlist ;)

So if you want to see them fulfill these promises, just add the game to your personal wishlist

Ah right, done!
It's still a good way to get publicity, hopefully they will succeed.
But my wishlist isn't public, soooo...

<confused>

@Grargar: I got a chuckle fromt the Top Secret reference.

I'm sure GOG can still give them general stats on the number of unique users who have it wishlisted (regardless of the state of anyone's wishlist privacy settings) without having to let the devs actually view individual wishlists.
Wishlisted. :)
Interesting concept. I don't think I have heard of a company doing this before. I wonder if this is a one off or if other publishers will do it in the future as well.
It's still great that they haven't forgotten about us. It's not everyday you see Steam and GOG be treated equally in the media. :)
I don't actually want the game, but hopefully more games will have this kinda stuff.
I wishlisted BT4 as soon as it was announced here.

Still, bravo to InXile for such a bold initiative.

It's a nice idea, but... isn't there a danger that people will just add it to their wishlists and then not buy it? I've already seen people say they'll put it on their wishlists in order to 'help', even though they don't actually want the game. If the idea is to increase overall revenue from sales, this could potentially backfire on them.
