Another example: You could transfer your saved-game files off of the Wii or WiiU hard drive, to play them on another console. But you can't do that with Switch save files. You also can't save data directly on to the game cards. You could do that on the NES in 1985, for goodness sake!
I bet that they have chosen that way because the piracy. The 3ds, Wii and Wii U were completed cracked and "the scene is strong on those ones"... But the recently announced crossplay between 3ds and Switch for Monster Hunter XX can hurt the switch if they don't clear the currently online on 3ds. Crossplay always sound great but the 3ds are full of cheaters.
